      <description>&lt;P&gt;Welcome to the 2023 Recipe Game my friends!&amp;nbsp; Hope the holidays treated you well and that you had a splendid NYE.&amp;nbsp; Just to show what a party animal I am, when the fireworks went off, it dawned on me that it was the new year and I hadn't started the January thread . . . at least you know my heart is in the right place!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Ok, so new year, new recipes.&amp;nbsp; Please share your old favorites and maybe some new ones you recently discovered.&amp;nbsp; Many thanks to our friend&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/113627"&gt;@candys mine&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;for starting us out with her delicious Date Nut Bread:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DATE NUT BREAD&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1 1Lb pkg&amp;nbsp; Whole Pitted Dates&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1 large Tablespoon Margarine&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3/4 cup DARK BROWN SUGAR&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1 beaten egg&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1 tsp Maple flavouing&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1/2 tsp Vanilla&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;11/2 cups flour&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1 tsp baking soda&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;pinch salt&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1/2 cup nuts&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;METHOD:&amp;nbsp; Cover the dates with 3/4 cup hot water and let stand Overnight.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Cream the Margarine and BROWN SUGAR, Add beaten egg, Maple and vanilla flavourings.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Mix together&amp;nbsp; Flour, baking soda and salt.&amp;nbsp; Add to the creamed mixture and beat well.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Stir in the dates and their liquid and the nuts.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Pour in a greased&amp;nbsp; 8&amp;nbsp; X 4 X&amp;nbsp; 21/2" pan&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Bake at 350&amp;nbsp; for 50 to 60 minutes check at 50 minutes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Next ingredient :&amp;nbsp; MILK&amp;nbsp; or cream&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

(6 oz each) long grain wild rice mix&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 carton (32 oz) reduced sodium beef broth&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1/2 cup water&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;2 cups heavy whipping cream*&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;In a Dutch oven, saute the mushrooms in oil until tender.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Add the rice, contents of seasoning packets, broth and water.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Bring to a boil.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Add cream and heat through.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;*I'm thinking half-n-half would be a little less decadent and work just as well.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Next ingredient: egg noodles&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Hungarian Goulash&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1/3 cup butter&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 1/2 lbs. sirloin steak, sliced or cubed&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 medium onion, diced (or less)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;2 cloves garlic, minced&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 cup ketchup&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;4 tablespoons Burgundy or other red wine&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;2 tablespoons light brown sugar&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 teaspoon salt&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;2 teaspoons paprika&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 teaspoon dry mustard&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;2 cups water&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;6 tablespoons flour&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;5 cups EGG NOODLES, cooked&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Melt butter in large skillet; sauté beef, onions and garlic. &amp;nbsp;When meat is brown and onions tender, stir in ketchup, wine, brown sugar, salt, paprika, mustard and water. &amp;nbsp;Blend well. &amp;nbsp;Whisk in flour*, simmer for 10 minutes** over medium-low heat stirring occasionally. &amp;nbsp;Serve over cooked NOODLES. &amp;nbsp;Serves 6.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;* I whisk the flour with a little extra water or liquid from &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; skillet&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;and then mix with the rest.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;** I usually simmer about 30 minutes or longer. &amp;nbsp;You can&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;enjoy some of the 🍷 while you wait...😁.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;NEXT INGREDIENT .....       <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Bowtie Pasta Salad with CHICKEN, Grapes and Peas&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 box (12oz) bowtie pasta&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 cup mayonnaise (light or regular)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1/2 teaspoon pepper&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1/2 teaspoon celery salt&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;2 cups cooked CHICKEN (2 breasts cut in cubes)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1/2 cup thinly sliced celery&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 cup frozen peas, rinsed and drained (optional)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1 cup red grapes, sliced in half&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Cook pasta according to package directions. &amp;nbsp;While it cooks, whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard, pepper and celery salt in large bowl. &amp;nbsp;Add CHICKEN, celery, peas and grapes. &amp;nbsp;When pasta is done, rinse under cool water; drain well. &amp;nbsp;Add pasta to bowl and mix until all ingredients are well coated with sauce. &amp;nbsp;Adjust seasonings according to preferences. &amp;nbsp;Pasta really absorbs mayonnaise so add little more if needed.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Refrigerate until serving. &amp;nbsp;Serves six. &amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;* I also like to add sliced or slivered almonds. &amp;nbsp;I like peas &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp; but good without as well (just way original recipe was&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;&amp;nbsp; written.)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;NEXT INGREDIENT .....       <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;PARMESAN Baked Potato Halves&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;6 med/small size potatoes (scrubbed and cut in half)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;1/4 cup butter&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Grated PARMESAN CHEESE&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Other seasonings of your personal preference&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;Preheat oven to 400 degrees. &amp;nbsp;Melt butter and pour into a 9x13" pan. &amp;nbsp;Spread evenly across bottom. &amp;nbsp;Generously sprinkle PARMESAN CHEESE and lightly sprinkle other seasonings as well. &amp;nbsp;Place potato halves face down on butter and seasonings. &amp;nbsp;Bake 40-45 minutes. &amp;nbsp;Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan. &amp;nbsp;If desired, serve with side of sour cream.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;NEXT INGREDIENT ..... Just last night, salmon, yellow squash and baked potatoes were on my dinner menu. It turned out that the potatoes were &lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;HUMONGOUS&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;, so I par cooked one of them in the microwave, then cut it in half, seasoned it with olive oil, salt and pepper and baked it for about half an hour. It was tasty enough, but your recipe sounds so much better.&amp;nbsp; My hubby has very little appetite and is turned off if I put too much food in front of him.       <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;PAN ROASTED LEMON POTATOES WITH DILL &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;FONT size="1 2 3 4 5 6 7"&gt;(10 mins)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Ingredients:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;1 lb. baby red or yellow potatoes&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;3 to 4 tbsp. butter&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;1 lemon, juice of (I use bottled juice)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;2 tsp fresh snipped dill (optional)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Salt and pepper to taste&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Instructions:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Place the whole potatoes in a shallow, microwave safe glass bowl in a single layer (you may need to do two batches if they don't all fit). Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, making sure to the potatoes are not touching the plastic wrap.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;Microwave on high for 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Be careful when removing from microwave, as the dish will be very hot. When the skillet is hot toss in the potatoes, 3 tbsp of butter and 1/2 of the lemon juice, stir to coat the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper, and the dill. Let the potatoes caramelize in the pan, by stirring just twice per minute, until they are golden brown on all sides. Add more butter and more lemon juice if desired.       <description>&lt;P&gt;My dear friend&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/37130"&gt;@VaBelle35&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp; shared this a while ago!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So easy and just yummy!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;U&gt;BREAKFAST SAUSAGE&amp;nbsp; by Vabelle&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Ingredients&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;2 teaspoons dried sage&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;2 teaspoons salt&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;1 teaspoon ground black pepper&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;1 tablespoon brown sugar&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;1 pinch ground cloves&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;2 pounds ground pork&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Directions&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;In a small, bowl; combine the sage, salt, ground black pepper, marjoram, brown sugar, crushed red pepper and cloves. &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Mix well.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Place the pork in a large bowl and add the mixed spices to it. &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Mix well with your hands and form into patties.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Sauté the patties in a large skillet over medium high heat for 5 minutes per side, or until internal pork temperature reaches 160 degrees F .&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;NEXT INGREDENT:&amp;nbsp; crushed tomatoes&lt;/P&gt;</description>
