Going to make a couple and freeze them now for quick dinners during the holiday break. I think I will make one with the classic Doritos flavor and the other with the cool ranch Doritos

Ingredients

1 1/2 Cans Pillsbury Crescent Sheets

1 LB. Ground Beef

1 Taco Seasoning Packet

1 1/2 Cups Sour Cream

1/2 Cup Salsa

2 Cups Cheddar Cheese (Or Mexican 4 Cheese), Shredded

1/2 9.5oz Bag Doritos (Your Favorite Flavor), Crushed

1/2 Stick Butter, Melted

Cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 9" pie dish and line with your crescent rolls, leaving a rim at the top.

Cook your ground beef, with taco seasoning, according to package instructions. Drain well.

Using a plastic bag, crush your Doritos. Add half of your Doritos to the top of your cresent roll shell - this is your first layer.

Place your cooked and seasoned ground beef on top of the Doritos layer.

In a seperate bowl, combine your salsa and sour cream with a whisk. Layer the mixture of the top of your ground beef.

Next, add your shredded cheese.

Add the remaining crushed Doritos on top of the shredded cheese.

Finally, add your melted butter on top. Bake for 18 - 20 minutes until golden brown. Garnish with cilantro, if desired.

Notes

You can use whatever flavor of Doritos you'd like for your pie.

Don't be afraid to add more shredded cheese, if desired. You measure that with your heart.

Don't have salsa? You can easily substitute hot sauce as well

f you can’t find Pillsbury Crescent Sheets, the traditional triangle crescent rolls work well too. Just place them in the bottom of the pie dish and press the seams together. Fold the top of the triangles over, to create the pie edge.

The pie is good in the freezer, for up to 3 months. Let it thaw 24-hours in the refrigerator before heating again. When I’m warming it up from a thawed state, I’ll use the oven at 300º for 20 minutes. Just check that the center is warmed thoroughly.

I make this same recipe, except that it calls for Fritos and no melted butter. Really yummy. Not sure what the point is in using a stick of melted butter?

I made a couple of them using different flavored Doritos and froze them for ready made meals. They were gobbled up!

I bought more ingredients this week to make more pies. I need to try the Fritos version, thank you 😊
