Frozen Manicotti or Stuffed Shells

Can anyone recommend a favorite brand? This is not an easy item to find, but I'm too lazy to make them myself. I don't want to buy a large quantity -- maximum 10 or 12 or they'll be in the freezer too long.

I'm very partial to the brand Celentano for frozen Italian foods like stuffed shells or manicotti. Very tasty, easy to prepare, holds up well in the freezer. You can add any favorite jarred sauce or homemade. There are not so many pieces in the bag that you would be concerned about waste.

I know I can find Celantano of many varieties in most supermarket freezers in NYC, particularly Brooklyn, where I live. I do not know if it's a national brand. You don't say the region where you're located. Hope you find something you like.

If you have a Wegman's close by, they sell stuffed shells by a company called Scaramuzza's. There are 9 in a pack (18 oz.) for under $7.00. They also carried the manicotti, but I don't see that looking on line.

@gizmogal I used to buy Celentano when I lived in NJ but can't find them in Texas. They are a great brand and I miss it.

schwans home delivery has a bag of stuffed shells (no sauce.)

they also have a box of lasagna roll ups, 4 to a box (no sauce.)

they also have bags of ravioli......cheese and a cheese/spinach combo.

all three excellent products and i like that i can make my own sauce to go on top of them.

@gizmogal - I was born and raised in Brooklyn. Have you tried the Pastosa store in Bensonhurst? They have stuffed shells, manicotti and ravioli and are delicious. There are stores in Long Island and New Jersey, plus you can order online for delivery to other states. We are having the stuffed shells tonight.

Celentanos is good also.

Pastosa's, Antoni Ravioli (located in Massapequa), Lombardi's Market (Ronkonkoma), Iavarone's (several LI locations) to name a few. Check to see if you can order online.

Rana sells lasagna sheets but I bought them because I came across a manicotti recipe while in Publix (Apron Recipes). I'm sure you can find that recipe on their website, I didn't use the meat, just cheese manicotti. Just mis up the cheese, place on sheets and roll them up. I think bake for about 20 minutes. So, so easy...and fast!

Thanks for good answers. Locally Acme and Shoprite carry one brand each but they're frequently out of stock. One local pizza shop uses the lasagna sheet trick to make manicotti and they're quite tasty. However, at $15 for 3 small manicottis plus an ever-shrinking salad it becomes an occasional treat.

Thank you @drizzellla for mentioning your deli. I remembered there's a small Italian grocery about two miles away. I called and they make their own, sold fresh not frozen, with a minimum of six. I always have my own ever-shrinking salad fixings in the fridge.

Seviroli is a good brand for Frozen Stuffed Shells in Sams Club. I used to buy Celentano but they seem to have changed. Less filling then the old days and not because of the pandemic.

My favorite fresh Ravioli, Shells and such are from a famous NYC based Italian Shop Bruno's. They are fresh, fresh, fresh and tasty.

There was a shop in Flushing NY back in the day, Pastosa Ravioli. Their products were wonderful. I think there may be other locations around NY, maybe in Brooklyn. Haven't had those in a dogs age! 🤔

@twinsister I just saw your post about Pastosa! Now I know some locations! Thanks, such nostalgia for me!

When I moved to Tennessee I had some difficulty finding manicotti. The Fresh Market carries Parla manicotti which can be purchased without sauce or with sauce. They also have a number of other Italian entrees which are good. All are in the frozen section.

The Wegmans Italian Classics frozen manicotti are good. I also like Celentano. As a matter of fact, long before Wegmans got into the frozen manicotti act, Celentano used to sell boxes of two manicotti--I'd have them occasionally for lunch at work. They must have discontinued those in favor of just the family-size packages.
