Pumpkin Question

I have several pumpkins around the house for decoration. Most of them are pie pumpkins. I know they are good for cooking. My question is about the small ones. They aren't the decor pumpkins with a coating on them, just regular small pumpkins. They aren't marked as to what kind they are. Has anyone cooked these small pumpkins, or should I just donate to wildlife when I'm ready to change decor? Thanks in advance.
