My husband makes our turkey and our stuffing. He roasts it in the oven in a cooking bag - always delicious and moist!

We prefer to keep it simple, just sprayed with oil, salt and peppered and roasted in the oven.

No , I don't. I rub olive oil on the bird , stuff with fresh rosemary carrots, celery, onion pieces . Then rub the bird with finely minced garlic , salt, pepper or Montreal seasoning salt mix.

can make for a juicy turkey but it changes the texture of the meat

Vegan turkey roast (this year from Trader Joe's -- they just came in and I bought two) with all the fixins....place in a pan with baby dutch potatoes, onions, and carrots,...roast. Serve with stuffing, gravy, home made cranberry sauce, green beans, sweet potatoes w/roasted mini marshmallows topping, salad, ....end with home made pumpkin pies with SOS salted caramel ice cream on top. All vegan, all delicious!

I put stuffing inside, lightly oil outside and lightly sprinkle pepper and paprika on the outside and into a roasting bag it goes. It stays moist and really tasty. Stuffing that doesn't fit inside goes into a baking dish and into the oven.

I rub the outer skin with butter and put the remainder of the stick in the breast cavity. We salt the outside of the bird. Then the turkey is wrapped in heavy duty foil and put into the roasting pan Breast Side Down. This makes much juicer white meat, but our turkey is baked, not roasted.

We make cornbread dressing which uses most of the juice we drain off the cooked bird. We do not stuff the raw bird. Our dressing is cooked in glass Pyrex (think lasagna size) usually 2 pans or more.

I don't know yet what I'm doing this year, but I do a wet brine and then a dry rub that goes on before it goes into the oven.

Last year I just got a fresh breast (cost a lot but it was very good!). Wondering if I might be able to find one again this year. I had also snagged a frozen one. A while afterward I cooked the frozen one and it was nowhere near as good.

I just really cannot handle a whole turkey anymore, due to hand/wrist/etc challenges.

I do a turkey breast each year, sometimes two. I put pats of butter under the skin and lightly butter the whole thing....put sage, rosemary, pepper, on it, fill cavity with whole carrots and celery stalks and yellow onion. Bake in an oven bag in a roasting pan. Best turkey ever and everyone wants the leftovers, if there are any. I never brine anything...way too much sodium remains in the meat.
