I've not used it but Googled it and golden sugar is less refined and retains a bit of molasses to give golden color. Somethin else I saw said it can give a hint of a caramel taste, but can be used ss you would white sugar in backing, beverages, etc. It also has the same caloric value and no difference in measuring cup for cup.

I prefer sugar in the raw ( turbinado cane sugar ) for baking . It makes the best chocolate chip cookies, Gramacery gingerbread cake and all kinds of pies.

My local barbecue restaurant which is very popular , tops their ribs , chicken and most everything with the raw sugar mixed with cayenne pepper.

I don't tend to bake often, so can't speak to that, but wouldn't guess, based on my use of it, that it would make much difference.

I knew I was going to make lasagna. So I wanted a can of tomato sauce. Went to the stack of tomato sauce, picked up a can and put it in the cart. Came home and as I put it away, I noticed it was a can of whole tomatoes.

NOOO! My son does not eat tomatoes. He was tolerate the sauce but that is it. But now there are no concerts, no theatre and no sporting events. He is home for every meal.
