But, I live in a state with soaring virus cases and have my groceries delivered. It was 114 degrees here last weekend, so Popsicles and ice cream would be melted by the time they got to my house in summer. I decided to buy ice pop molds and make my own. Nothing fancy. I'll start with root beer ones, peach juice ones, and watermelon juice ones. To me, they'd be so refreshing in this heat. I'm trying to eat low-carb and its hard to find a cold treat that isn't full of sugar. So far, I've just been freezing unsweetened ice tea. Next, I'm going to try freezing coffee made with Bailey's Irish Cream coffee creamer. I also just found a low-carb recipe for a chocolate/peanut butter meal replacement shake. If I like the shake, I'll freeze the mixture in pop molds, too.

I haven't but I need to. I do have some molds. I would probably just go with Kool-Aid flavors. I often use popscicles as a reward and a way to rehydrate after working in the yard. I have been getting the Black Cherry Fruit Pops, can't remember the brand name, but I think I would rather have just straight flavored water rather than a juice pop. I don't get the regular pops at the store because you have to buy a multitude of flavors, some of which I wouldn't eat. I'm kinda picky. I really just stick with berries, lemon, and maybe grape.

I haven't done it this year, because I've been sick a lot, but I have made them a few times and we've enjoyed them vry much.

I remember having a couple/few recipes. One is for watermelon and another one I remember I made with cherries. Both great!

I got my ice pop molds on Amazon. They have a little stand that the top kind of pops into so that they stay standing up while you're freezing them. Work really well.

My friend makes these strawberry treats for her grandchildren, but I've enjoyed them also:

3 1/2 cups hulled strawberries

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup honey

1 tsp lemon juice

1/8 tsp salt

Puree 1/2 of strawberries for 20 seconds in food processor. Add cream, honey, lemon juice, and salt in food processor for 10 more seconds until smooth. Add rest of strawberries and chop for 5 pulses. Pour into pitcher. Divide into ice pop molds and insert sticks. Freeze for at least 6 hours to firm up.

I have not made any ice pops but every trip to the store I have been buying an extra package of Koolaid freeze pops. It has been so darn hot here, and next month, the freeze pops will be hard to find. We eat popsicle or freeze pops almost daily here. Someone mentioned an A&W float, and I was thinking of making some root beer slushies. I also love frozen grape juice.
