Too late. LOL!!! I just made banana bread yesterday.

I also made some homemade peanut butter. It sure is good on the banana bread.

Just ate a piece for lunch.

Thanks for sharing the recipe. Never heard of banana brownies but probably really good just like the chocolate zucchini cake recipe.

A co-worker used to bring these banana bars to potlucks. Thry are almost like a piece of cake:

Bars:

1/4 cup softened butter

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup sour cream

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup mashed bananas

1 cup flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

Cream butter, brown sugar, sugar, sour cream, egg, and vanilla with electric mixer. Mix in bananas. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt to combine. Pour evenly into greased 9x13" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees until toothpick comes out clean, 15-20 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Frosting:

1/4 cup butter

2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 tbsp heavy cream

Melt butter in saucepan (not nonstick). Bring to gentle simmer until milk solids are light brown (You are making 'browned butter'). Off heat, whisk in sugar, vanilla, and cream until smooth and creamy. Add another 1/2 tbsp cream if needed to make spreadable. Spread on warm bars. Cool bars to room temperature before serving.

I was hoping that the bananas completely disappeared into the batter without adding any flavor. I'm not a fan of bananas and really don't care for any kind of fruit with chocolate. We ended up with a lot of bananas, however, because I bought some for my mother (who lives with us) and my husband also bought some for her so we have a lot of them. One thing that helps is to wrap aluminum foil around the stems of the bunch. That really slows down the ripening process. Still, I see banana bread in our future. At least Mom and the hubby will enjoy it.
