With peanut butter/jelly/fruit spread aisle. Sometimes you might want to check the bakig aisle where the canned fruit/pie fillings, etc.

in most grocery stores- apple butter is where the jelly/ jam is located.

In my grocery store, it's on the aisle with the canned fruit (pineapple, apples,etc.)...

I would choose the apple butter that is apples only, rather than with sugar added. It is certainly sweet enough. Check the label-in supermarkets, it is probably with the jams, but health food stores also carry it. I once made my own by boiling down apples.............

Your post about asking reminded me of a time when I had an immobilizer from toe to kneecap and I was in one of the supermarket aisles. Of course, I didn’t use the electric cart and when 2 employees didn’t know where something was, I took out my cellphone and called the store manager who found me and brought over my request.

Once I called the store manager to get more cashiers on the line. Works every time.

i really shouldnt haven’t been walking on that thing and now pay the price with an unpredictable arthritic kneecap !

Oh Apple Butter is my absolute favorite but does not come in smaller container just big family size. So when I can not longer stand to go without some on toast, ect... I get it and share with son and his family. Always had apple butter on the table at breakfast growing up. For some reason it is always on the bottom shelf at the grocery store with the jams and jellies. Never up higher.

cold you make smaller jars and then freeze them? i do this all time with things that are too much for me.

well @NYLinda, It appears that I'm suffering from dyslexia in my old age.. I thought you were asking about apple sauce, hence my answer of it being on aisle with canned fruits. I'm just now reading the post again and see that you were looking for apple butter... So forget my answer!!!! I don't know where it is in the grocery store, but I have ordered it from King Arthur Flour....

I was looking for applebutter today at the grocery store. I looked at every jam, jelly & peanutbutter not there, I will check where they sell applesauce & see or go to CS and ask. You would think it would be next to the jams. My grocery store is huge and I nefisver thought about going to the canned fruit isle. I did find Old Bay seasonings for fish, not in the spice section, next to the fish dept.

Thank you everyone. You saved me some time this morning, not standing in the 6 deep line at customer service.

First I looked by the peanut butter, to no avail, but there it was, second from the bottom shelf in the jelly section right where you guys said it would be!
