    <description>&lt;P&gt;You will need to make the pecan topping first.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;German Chocolate Cookies&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Topping:&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;1 cup sugar&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;1 cup evaporated milk&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;1/2 stick butter&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;1 teaspoon vanilla&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;3 egg yolks...beaten&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;In a 2 quart pan, mix all ingredients blending well. Stirring frequently cook over medium heat 10-12 minutes, or til bubbly. It will look like caramel and be thick enough to coat a spoon. Remove from heat.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;To the COOLED mixture add:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;1 3/4 cup coconut&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;1 1/4 cup chopped pecans&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Allow mixture to cool to room temp. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of it for topping the cookies. Use the rest for the cookie dough. This topping is also great on ice cream!&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Preheat  TO 350*.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Cookie Dough&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;1 box "Pudding In The Mix" German chocolate cake mix&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;1/3 cup softened butter...NOT MELTED&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;All but the reserved 1 1/2 cups topping mix you made above&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Stir til through;y moistened. Dough will be very soft. Shape into 1 inch balls with your hands. Put on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Make a dent in the center of each cookie with your thumb. Don't worry if they crack a little. Use a teaspoon to drop generous portions of the Carmel topping you reserved into the dents. Bake 11-14 minutes or til flat and set. The cracks will look mostly dry. Let the cookies cool &lt;STRONG&gt;COMPLETELY&lt;/STRONG&gt; before removing them from the cookie sheet. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
