I just made a soup today...cooked chick peas (35 minutes after soaking for about 3 hours) and then in that cooking liquid added chicken better than bouillon, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, kale, brown rice, chicken. Added a slug of apple cider vinegar, some turmeric, black pepper, some herb seasoning (I like Bragg's organic sprinkle). Cooked 19 minutes. Gosh it was fabulous and I forgot to add the tomatoes.

I've cooked black beans in the IP without soaking. They came out great.

I cook lentils all the time in the IP but they never need soaking. I throw them in with veggies for soup.

I’ve been doing this for years. I soak beans a couple of hours or whatever I desire.

I put beans or 15-beans in pressure cooker and cover with water. I cook for 45 minutes and done. Whenever I cook dried Lima beans, I cook for 35 minutes. No more soaking beans overnight for me.

The only beans I’ve cooked are Lima’s, pintos, and 15 beans.

I'm used to old school ways and cover my nothern beans with water and let soak overnight. Next morning doesn't take as long to cook add bacon grease and chunks of ham.

Anxious to see how you can go about making them in the IPot.

Yeah, I'll research it if it's not included in the handbook.

I put 2 cups dried, rinsed beans and 4 1/2 cups water in the Instant Pot. Cook it on high pressure for 50-60 minutes. Let it cool down naturally for 30 minutes. Voila! Very tasty cooked beans.
