I make a variation of this chili for football parties: https://recipeland.com/recipe/v/eugenia-potters-27-ingredient-c-19981

I leave out some of the spicier items or put them on the side for those who want them. Have made it with chicken which is really good. I leave it in the crock pot and people help themselves. Have served with cornbread or biscuits.

When our family takes turns with events we always say bring what you would like to drink which makes it easier on the hosts and everyone gets just what they want.

Chili isn’t too expensive and some cornbread.Natchos,buns with meat and cheese,veggies and dip,chips and salsa.I make hot wings by baking them.I first did them in a bag with s9ne flour and garlic salt.I then bake them at 425 turning until crispy and browned....about 45 min.I then dump on some franks hot wing sauce and cook a few minutes more to allow the sauce to coat the wings well...sometimes I add a little butter with the sauce and that makes them really rich tasting.

How about white chicken chili and regular chili? Or regular chili and fixin's for Frito Chili Pie, Chili dogs, and toppings like cheese, jalapenos, onions, etc.

Cookies, maybe ice creams and toppings, or brownies--simple things, chips and dips. People don't really pay that much attention to food when the game is on. I always appreciate a few fruit slices and grapes when I've eaten too much junk to start off--then I can switch to something cool and refreshing.

If it were later in the seaon, I'd say three varieties of chili. Being that it is still warm, you could make tacos (both beef and chicken) and set out all kinds of toppings. I like to make Jello Poke Cake using the team colors. We're in Packer country so I use a yellow cake(a drop of coloring makes it more gold colored) with green jello and top it with Cool Whip frosting.

@GinzTonic

We just did a "patriotic potluck" for Labor Day and specifically had people bring snack/side items to go with a BBQ, so here are some other fun red, white, and blue things you could sprinkle into your menu over the course of the season:

•Raspberry, mini marshmallow, and blueberry skewers
•Fruit salad with plenty of red and blue berries
•Mini phyllo shells filled with whipped cream and berries
•Pretzel sticks dipped in red, white, and blue chocolate (with or without sprinkles or nuts)
•Blue and white corn chips with salsa (or blue and red chips with a white dip)
•Potato salad made with red, Yukon Gold, and purple/blue potatoes

One guy even brought cocktail weenies in that good ol' jam+chili sauce in a blue bowl. He apologized for it being less of a side and more of a main course, but every weenie disappeared despite all the burgers and big hot dogs we had.

We also came up with tons of dessert ideas since there are so few blue foods—we may try that next time we all get together. Good luck!
