yeah, I can do breads and rolls, but, pie crust I'm in trouble.

Tried it one time and my oven overflowed with those **** apples and whole house smoked up, husband started bellowing, smoke alarm went off, I had a meltdown on my hands for sure.

Never again, I'm buying Sara Lee or Sam's club

@SharkE baking is one of the few things I really like to do in the kitchen...I would love to see a cookbook by Christine Pryme. Some of her recipes are listed on the Q's Recipes by Host/Chef. I just type in Recipes and the page comes up.

I am sorry that happened. I don't think it was your recipe that went bad.

Did you put holes in the crust to vent and make sure the edges of the crust were 100% sealed? I wet the edges of the crust with a brush and water before I put the " lid" on and press together. That will make a tight seal.

I once made a cheery pie about two years ago, and for some unknown reason, all of the cherries were I the bottom of the oven and I was left with an empty pie crust. My kitchen was full of smoke too and I had a dirty oven to clean. I now always put a sheet pan under my pie's while baking.

i am not a novice pie baker....it can happen to everyone a time or two.

I think must had put to much water in the mixture and when the apples started cooking that made more water.

I take bread and rolls of all sorts to church activities hope they never ask me to do a pie
