topic Anyone ever use newspaper under mulch? in Garden

I read an article online about using multiple sheets of newspaper under mulch to reduce weeds, and I'm trying it. Yesterday, I finished nearly half of the front (I have huge front beds) and am heading out in a few minutes to do some more. My front landscaping was done 20 years ago so it's definitely grown in, but I still have a good amount of bare ground showing. I am so sick of pulling weeds that I thought I'd give this a try.
