🍇 A GRAPES JOURNEY 🍇

Our Grapes are all nearly ready. This year, we covered one set of vines with a thin wire mesh to discourage wildlife from getting them all. Because the grapes are from different vines, some look a bit different. I've chronicled their growth journey from early May until now.😃🍇

Years ago, my parents would make wine with some and jelly and juice with the rest. Since my dad no longer drinks, we're going to eat all we can and make jelly with the rest lol.😃🍇

Beautiful! Grapes are my favorite fruit, so I would be in heaven around your grapevines. My mouth is watering thinking about how delicious those plucked off the vine grapes will taste.

@cheriere wow they are beautiful! I would be in heaven just walking through where you live seeing all the different fruits, veggies and flowers. For someone like me who is not familiar, it's amazing to see folks grow stuff.

We eat a lot of grapes around here lol. Since winter, we've bought a large bag from Walmart every single week. I'm thrilled to get to have our own for a little while. I just wish the growing window were a bit longer lol.

@cheriere I love grapes too and my mom used to buy them, wash them and let them air dry. Then she would freeze them. To me they are delicious as a frozen summer treat and they last a while!

@cheriere Beautiful and lots of hard work and love to produce them. Brings back so many memories, my grandmother had grapes and I can remember just sitting on the ground eating them until my stomach ache....delicious. She made the best jellies and jams and juice...probably wine but I'm not sure about that😉

MY MOM HAD GRAPES AND SHE USED THEM TO MAKE THE COMMUNION FOR CHURCH ALWAYS AND JELLY OF COURSE TOO.

My father grew grapes surrounding the garden & his peach trees. I always ate them green. My mother froze the riped grapes. The rest my father made wine.

We only picked the grapes at early evening right before it got dark to avoid the bees & wasps. My father always washed the grapes on the vines then right after he picked them outside, then my mother would wash them again inside the house in the laundry tub.

Your grapes look wonderful! Our grapes didn't produce this year at least not yet, we have tons of limes though and our apricots did well this year. I only have two zuccinis on my vines also.

Limes and apricots are two things I've never grown. I'd love to try them though. I use limes for everything it seems. I always drink a limeade mix in my waters. I'm not sure how well they'd do here. Maybe I could get a small hybrid tree to try out.😃❤️

You have me going through my pictures and posting a bit. I am surprised how much the pictures have to be resized...that never used to happen. They must have changed something. Yikes!

Our limes and lemons have always done well, they must like the heat and during their productive season I water them thoroughly.

I have to resize nearly every picture. I can't post a row of vegetables or a small tree because it says the file is too large. I'm unable to show a lot of things due to this issue.😔

@cheriere Are you using an editing site? I use picmonkey dot com. I have an account with them but I think you don't have to just to resize pictures. You may want to check them out.

I had to resize my island picture three times before it was accepted and also another picture I posted yesterday. That was really surprising as this was never a problem a couple of years ago. It is very time consuming and disappointing, too.
