This year my desert roses have been slow getting their act together. Although they each very much have their own time frame of waking up from winter, this year has been considerably slower than previous years. With the hotter weather they are finally showing signs of being happy.

@Pezzie. You have a veritable forest of them. They'd be fun to grow and are quite spectacular but I have no place to "winter" them.

@Kachina624 Winter is a problem. Unfortunately all the plants are much too large to move indoors so DH jumps through hoops for them in the winter, not just covering them, but on really cold nights he has a light in each of them that he keeps on through the night for added warmth.

Every year he "threatens " that if one does not survive the winter we are not replacing it with another one. Luckily so far they have all come through . Keeping fingers crossed.

Absolutely stunning! I wonder if your DH has ever thought of placing each plant on a hard surface with four little wheels underneath? Just me, wondering. Those plants are treasures! A contraption like that would make it easier to move the plants out of harm's way.

@PamfromCT. @Pezzie. Years ago, my dad made me a set of extra-heavy duty wooden dollies so I can move plants around. I put an "I" hook on each one and attached a dog leash to pull it. I'm still using them 25 years later.

@PamfromCT Even if we could move them indoors, we don't have room to accommodate them. Two of them are BIG, and there is no moving them. Too, too, too heavy.

Exquisite, so much beauty in a small space.

I used to have 20+ bonsai trees in my apartment. The

twisted barks are amazing

I live near the Brooklyn Botanic Garden ---they have a phenomenal collection and offer classes in the art.

Impressive! Have a few blooms but nothing like yours. What is your soil mix, and do you feed?
