We have been busy here in Nova Scotia with Spring cleanup. We are also moving shrubs and taking some out altogether. We are in this property 19 years now so the gardens are mature. So far we have taken out a nesting Spruce and a dapple willow and moved a 15 year old weeping mulberry and three hydrangeas.

Our croscus are up but no daffodils yet. Very wet Spring. We had 246 mm of rain in March, the norm around 130. My brother in West Coast interior British Columbia doesn't get that much all year.

We have had some winter damage because of the weight of snow, mostly to Rhodos. I think the Azaleas do much better in that regard.

We are going to have a good year for blooms. No polar blast this year.

How are your gardens shaping up?

Ever since the first day of Spring, the weather decided to be cold and rainy though the daffs have done good, crocuses too. Serviceberry is in full bloom, dogwoods just now beginning to show the slightest leaf pop. The maple next door is leafing out, our red Japanese maple has been leafing out for a couple of weeks now. With all the rain, lawns are greening up and growing quickly.

Ahh Spring, LOVE IT!

My weeping cherry is coming out beautiful, but we are having cold night.Spring flowers are out in beds, and I'm worring about my Magnolia tree, full of buds and 30 degrees this morning. All the bushes I copied from you have survived but not out yet. My Son and DIL are out mowing for the first time this Spring.Love your place and all the decoration. I'll keep checking, you know if you get something new and different, I'll want one too.Happy Spring to you.

We had high winds all day (yesterday) which resulted in several large tree limbs falling into my yard from the neighbor's tree. They don't trim that tree and this is a regular process, which I'll never comprehend. I've lugged the limbs off my lawn and called the tree company to come shred them.

During the night we finally received a gentle rain (about .30") which was really needed. It's a start in the April showers! Everything has been growing beautifully this year. We've had a very strange winter/spring with very little snow or moisture. I've been watering since February!

Looking forward to many more. Here in eastern PA we've had 4 inches of rain just this past week. Lots of rain prior to that monsoon as well. Most of the daffy's are on the way out, and the daylilies and hostas are showing leaves. Our rather young weeping cherry is at it's peak today. Too wet to work in the flower beds or mow.

I love to see garden pics.

I am so ready to figure out what to plant this spring since my backyard was destroyed last summer from a major storm. I'm starting over again in the back.

I bought so many concrete statues, pots, signs, birds, dogs, cats etc from a man that makes anything concrete in his garden shed. Many of the items are on rebar or go on the ground in my flower beds.

I started buying from him over 30 years ago.

My friend decided to start painting them this month all pretty colors since the concrete colors have faded. They were mostly painted to begin with.

My friend works part time in a nursery and he bought over 15 pots of plumeria plants today. No one wanted these since they re-bloom later. Pretty purple colors.

I can't wait to see what else he brings over. They will all be free which is the best part.

My garden will look spectacular again. The front yard already looks great and waiting for the azaleas to bloom and the rest of the flowers and bushes. My tulips and daffodils already have.

I haven't decided where everything will go yet.

This will be such a fun year to re-do everything. I wish I could take pics but this is a stupid chromebook that doesn't work with loading pics.
