Potatoes

I went to a Seed show for the first time in my life and enjoyed seeing so many beautiful yields presented. They were from all over the contry. The Amish grew such beautiful items. There were seeds for sale but I don't know all my vegetables so I just purchased some potato seedlings.

When does one plant them? The vendor was so overwhelmed with customers he couldn't take time to explain too much to me.

i enjoyed your post and wanted to help you. I googled. "How to plant potato seeds". It's a topic I know nothing about and I didn't know there were seeds for potatoes. So google was my friend and is yours, too.

In general, if you buy a plant locally from a reputable seller, it's a good time to plant it. Mail order plants get trickier.

Greg Alder has a website called "The Yard Posts" and he says there are two seasons for growing potatoes in Southern California. August to mid-September (essentially now) for harvest in late fall or early winter and again in February for harvest in late spring.

So, you bought your plants at the right time, and they can go into the ground now.
