Lawn Edger

Husband and I decided to canccel our lawn service and do it ourselves. Looking for lawn edger recommendations that cordless/use a battery. I am the one who will be doing the edging. Not interested in a string model, done that before and I don't want gas because it's heavier. TIA!

I have a friend who loves to mow the lawn and edge and she uses EGO cordless tools.

She has an edger and electric lawn mower by that brand. She also drives an all electric vehicle, clearly that's her thing.

Way back I had really good luck with a Black & Decker edger (and their blower too). My husband says they are probably much better ones out now, but I used that all the time with never a problem. I also had a Black & Decker blower to blow the edgings off the pavers, and liked it too. The batteries were interchangeable between the two, so I could edge and then snap the battery into the blower. I also had a spare battery that was kept on the charger in case the one I had in started to go down.

Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed doing that work, even though it was H-O-T here in FL. We even had a lawn service for the big stuff, but I liked to think my little touches added to the results. We got a lot of compliments about our landscaping, so maybe it helped

We used to do our own lawn at our old house in California. Smaller yard, easier to do and weather was usually good. Not not that in GA, summer is brutal! For got about a blower. Need that too.

@ScrapHappy if you need a trimmer plus a blower get a matching set with interchangeable batteries. DH bout a battery operated lawn mower (Worx) and I use those batteries in my trimmer. They last forever. I have a 56V blower so the battery does not match but when I replace the blower I will stay with the brand so as to get best use of batteries.

I had concrete edging put on the flower beds in the front yard. In the back I have wedge stone (stack stone) and a rubber edging product that works well. I love a good edging job but it makes for a lot of trimming!

I'm going to have a lot of edgin to do. Our home has more property than our last. I really don't want to do it but I don't want to pay for the lawn care anymore. They're nice guys but rarely do they trim the bushes and some other things. My husband is still out there doing what they don't do.

@ScrapHappy No one takes as much care for your property than you do or at least that is my experience. We have almost two acres of gardens. You have to love it to do it. I enjoy the winter respite but always look forward to getting back in the garden.
