<LI-SPOILER><LI-SPOILER> </LI-SPOILER> </LI-SPOILER>
I saw one about 2 days ago in the morning. They gradually went down to just maybe 2 that I could see.

I was wondering if they migrate alone...thought they'd fly in flocks?? I kinda felt bad only one was left, so figured it'll fly alone, IDK?? I cleaned out the feeders and put a last fresh nectar in. They say keep them out for about 2 weeks after the last bird was seen.

I'm in Central Florida...anyone else finished with them?

I'm kind of glad it's over...it was a crazy season with the abundance of yellow jacks on the feeders, competing with the birds. Was really alot of work on my part, keeping up and cleaning everything, much more than the usual past few years.

We planted alot of firebushes, and flowering plants the hummingbirds like...so that also attracts the bees, and butterflies too.

I'm in central TX and I still have my hummingbird's. With the heat and drought, I've been changing out feeders daily to keep feeding stations (x3) fresh.

But, I have had fewer this year than in the last few years. It's been disappointing, but I guess they know what they're doing.

It's been an unpleasant spring and summer here. If I could have flown away, I would have, too.

One day this week we didn't see any activity, and we started to think they had flown the coop. Then the hummers came back and started really feeding. We seem to have more than ever now, and they are very active. I think they are fueling up for their trip. There also seems to be a dominant bird. He decides who gets to feed and when the time is up. Didn't see that before. It's so hot I have to change out the nectar every day

Colorado mountains, just west of Denver. Sttill have lots of little hummers here. I have 2 feeders up high where the bears can't get them and still filling the feeders once a day.

Last year they left the end of Sept., but I will continue to watch and see what they do this year. Will leave feeders up for a week after I see the last little bird. They always manage to find their way back here in the Spring.

Here in Southeastern Massachusetts, I must sadly say they never started!

Others years, I've seen a few here and there, but this year, only one came and that was a few days ago. I will do what you are and leave fresh nectar out in hope one or two more might come by.

I have also not heard crickets this year or seen any small frogs which are commonplace here every year. It leaves me wondering and sad...

We still have hummingbirds here in upstate SC. I have three feeders this year and probably 5 birds here. We used to have so many more birds. We leave the feeders up into October to feed the migrating birds. We too have to change the feeders more frequently due to the heat.

@Jk9 , I too am in the upstate SC and have noticed a big drop in hummingbirds this week. From mid July until last weekend I have had an astronomical number of birds at my feeders. They started dropping off last weekend and since Friday I am only seeing one or two at a time. Not sure if they are just taking a break or have begun their departure.

August is the busiest month here in East TN for hummers. I've been changing out my feeders frequently. They will start slowing down and eventually leave sometime in October.

no they are still buzzing around altho I took down my feeder as those big black ants were invading my balcony to get at it. I live in an apartment so have to be careful of that sort of thing. Makes me sad ----
