My DH brought home a big ol' iron wash pot, antique to say the least, heavy. It's just sitting in the yard, looking lonesome...Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to decorate this relic ????

In the warm months it was filled with red geraniums. They really popped against the black cast iron. Pumpkins replaced the flowers in the fall. She did a Christmas look after Thanksgiving. I don't remember anything but soil being there after Christmas until warm enough to plant geraniums.

I've only see 2 of those old wash pots used as lawn decor.

One was sitting on top of firewood placed in a circle; had a summer garden flag in it with impatiens and ivy flowing over the side, plus a house number sign in front.

The other wash pot was on its side with corn stalks, corn husks and various types and sizes of colorful pumpkins pouring out of it like a cornucopia. There was a wooden sign with a bright orange bow that said "Happy Fall Ya'll" to the side of the spilled contents.
