Posting issues with photos

See below. Am I the only one having this issue with photos? Either sideways or upside down, every photo.

I had sideways photos going on a few days ago. I thought it was just the way I had taken them since they sometimes come out that way on my phone.

But now that you've posted this, I'm thinking it might not have been me after all. They appeared normal in my photos app. I just gave up posting photos since I couldn't get them to appear right side up.

ETA: Your garden looks lovely as usual, though--even sideways and upside down!😉👍🌸

@geezerette , thanks for your reply. I used to post photos all the time but won't be posting them either if this is how it turns out. I never had issues in the past and, as you can see from my number of posts, I have been around for awhile.

Wondering if others have a similar experience? Can the mods help with this? LM

@Lilysmom I'm assuming they are right side up when you transfer? And of course there is no editing of photos here except for size; not direction.

I hope it can be corrected. I haven't posted photos here in a long time.

@Kachina624 , we are in mature garden phase now. Our focus of late has been to make the property more accessible and easily walkable, although there are still places where I feel like a bit of a mountain goat.

It has been a busy year doing things to house and garden that one does at 15 years of age.

Here is the latest...

Maybe @Mz iMac can put these right side up for me. She is going to have to teach me her tricks so I can post properly from my iPad. LM

@Lilysmom, 'Way back in 2015 there was a glitch on the site involving iPad (maybe it's iPhones, too) images showing up either sideways or upside down. When I saw your posts, I remembered the glitch because I was involved in some of the discussions back then.

The temporary solution was to edit the image (something simple, but just an edit and a save) on your iPad before you upload it to the Q.

I found several threads about this, and also the @Community_Team pinned this notice to the top of the forums temporarily until they fixed the problem.

"Improved iPad functionality is now live!

...When you take a photo with your iPad and do not edit the photo (crop, improve the brightness, etc.) then the photo may appear sideways to non-iPad users.

If you edit the photo before posting to the forums the photo will be right side up for everyone...

...We hope this helps explain why some photos are not right side up when posted with an iPad."

Try it and see if that works for you. I wanted to toss this idea into the mix in case it's that old problem popping up again and, if so, this temporary fix might help out.

It needs to be reported to the moderators so they can notify the IT department. My guess is that this glitch reappeared with this bizarre font change on the Community.

@Lilysmom This is how it's done on Mac OS computers. Unsure if the instructions are the same on Apple iOS devices.

Drag photo onto desktop.

Double click on pic to open Preview

Go to Tools & do the necessary

When done, click the Save button.

Try on the new batch of photos you submitted. Let me know if it does not work & I will flip the photos around for ya.

@dooBdoo I had forgotten all about that but I remember doing it on my iPad. You jogged my memory.
