It was a Beautiful Spring Morning in My Backyard!

So peaceful at about 7AM....birds singing and not much other noise. Just Wanted to share a couple pictures .. The Rhododendrons are just starting to bloom...

@SeaMaiden Beautiful pictures...the sunbeams coming through the trees is glorious....what a gorgeous yard you have to enjoy. Our azaleas are finished blooming here in MD/DC suburbs.

@SeaMaiden You have a beautiful yard that looks like lots of work. You never mention gardening so I assume you don't do it? Nice to enjoy looking at it anyway.

@Kachina624 I pretty much do everything! Oh, DH mows the grass....that is his MAN JOB😄

I usually weed for an hour a day spring and summer....you have to keep on it or they just take over! I trim the bushes as they need it. Anything requiring a arborist or such, I call for tree trimming etc....

Fall is the really the busy time, raking all the maple leaves...oh my, so many leaves! 😳

@Kachina624 The pink flowers? Is that what you are asking about? That is a Rhododendron Bush, It is about 40 years old...they get very large if you let them . Is that the "tree " you were referring to?

@Kachina624 Yes,it is a Rhododendron which is a bush, but they can get very large. I have several of them all different colors. They like the pacific North West climate.

@SeaMaiden I live in the Albuquerque area, high desert. Before that I spent years in Houston and West Texas. None of these places is optimal for gardening. We do grow nice roses here since the soil is sandy and drains rapidly but we have to pour the water on them.

@Dazlin It is a yard that requires constant up keep... now 65, I know that is will be too much for me someday. I hope the next homeowner that I sell the house to is someone that wants to work in the yard.

When I moved in this house going on 30 years ago, the previous owners had lived in the house about 10 years and had NEVER done a bit of yard work... there were dead plants... some near death that I brought back to life....and dangerous big trees that were not healthy... no one had done a thing... It took a lot of work and money to get the yard turned around. We have cut down at least 7 huge alder trees and one big maple that was just too close to the house. It is just a yard that requires a lot of upkeep. I think my next home will be with a much smaller yard!
