Is it a bush, or a tree?? It sort of looks like Honeysuckle, but I'm not sure that's what it is. Can you provide more info on it?

Yes, it smells divine. A very sweet floral fragrance. It looks more like a bush than a tree. It doesn't have a stamen like honeysuckle has.

Leaves and foliage are wrong for a sweet almond bush. Your photo looks more like a flowering lemon tree as Trefoli suggested.

You're right - it doesn't look like almond, but it isn't a lemon either. Look at the pic I posted. The flowers grow on bunches on long stems, and each flower only has 4 petals; I believe that lemons have five. I'm still stumped.

The leaves look pointed on your plant & the sweet almond bush has a rounded tip on its leaves.

Can you bring a sample into a local cooperative extension? I think you might have to call ahead as this isn't considered essential.

The flowers remind me of my ligustrum which are blooming now. I can smell the flowers as soon as I open the door. There are different types of leaves on them depending on the variety. Mine are wax leaf. Here is what they look like up close:
