The guys who mow my lawn just use one of those blowers.

After they've mowed the lawn and trimmed everything with the weed wacker, they use the blower to get the loose clippings that might have blown near the flowers, etc.

It doesn't mess up the flowers (even the low hanging ones). It just blows away the blades of grass that fell on the flowers.

You might think of that. I don't use it, but I have a blower that isn't very heavy.

My lawn guys have one that fits on their back but it was probably expensive and I believe it's gas powered.

Around here, in the condo community, they use leaf blowers after each mowing to blow clippings off sidewalks, patios, driveways, etc. Generally speaking, it's best to leave clippings on the lawn itself as they return nitrogen to the soil. If clippings ae getting in the garden, ask DH to mow in the opposite direction so clippings are directed elsewhere, or to blow them out of the garden with a leaf blower.

Hate sloppy lawn service - yes the leaf blower is the answer. Leaf blowers (TORO - SUN JOE) units also come with a vacuum attachment which is excellent for picking up Fall leaves. 2 for 1 so to speak. Rake leaves in a pile - use vac attachment which sucks them up and mulches at the same time. Price: $50 to $80 range.

What is he doing? Blowing all the cut grass into piles then picking it up?

Does the mower have a bag attachment? That keeps grass off everything...garden beds and mulch.

If he doesn't want to use a bag, he could direct the discharge away from the beds, mulch, driveway, and sidewalk. But that won't work if he's blowing the grass cuttings into piles.

Edging also throws grass. Blowers are used to blow it back onto the grass.

Not sure how well a lawn sweeper would work on your flower beds unless you want him to sweep up all the grass clippings from the lawn and not use a blower, but a bag, IMO, is much easier than sweeping the lawn...cheaper, too.

DH just needs to blow the grass is a different direction. I only need to use my blower if the grass is long. Maybe he needs to mow more often or the mower deck is set too low?

The easiest option for picking up grass is having a bagger on the mower or even having a mulching mower.

I know what you mean -- I hate that also. DH's riding mowing used to have a thing attached to it that would catch all the grass cuttings and then you would empty it out, but it wore out. Now he mows and grass cuttings get thrown every where. I have a blower thing but it is heavy and tedious. I love summer but hate the work!
