Decided last Friday to pull up some of my flowers and get a jump on cool weather. The leaves/stems were starting to turn a little brownish and not producing many flowers ( if any ). Plan on turning over the dirt, let it air out for a few days, and apply some type of ground cover. I might use a wood mulch this year over pine needles.

Believe it or not, my geraniums are still going strong. It appears the geraniums will be the last to be pulled up.

Have you done the same or similiar?

I was just outside cutting down a large clematis that I did not get to when I did the rest (I think I left this one because it was twisted up into trees and hard to get down). Buds are showing up on things so I did not want to end up cutting all the buds off. We have had an unusually dry winter for the Pacific Northwest but I am anxiously awaiting spring.
