Spring Cherry Blossom Question

Would any of you wenderful wenners please give me an idea of the scent of the new spring scent - especially the oil. I am afraid to try it if it smells similar to the PJP - that one I had to send back - way to much of a rose scent/strong scent for me.

I ask about the oil specifically because to me the oil is different from the CC.

Appreciate any feedback as I would like to order during the next Wen show! TIA

I am wondering about it too.I find all blossom scents are sweet and I don't care for that so I haven't tried the cherry.I don't think it smells like cherries if that is what you are hoping for.

@dex - no, I didn't expect cherries, lol. I just can't use something that is too heavy on the flower/rose scent, like PJP was for me.

@PeckyI have the sob and really don’t care for it.I sure wish there was a way to give it to you.I find it too sweet and the orange smells fake on my skin.

SCB & SOB are two of my favorites. The SOB is light and airy (to me) not citrusy at all - the scent of the blossom in a light breeze.

SCB reminds me of a flower shop. Very feminine, not heavy and not rose-like which I don't care for at all.

The SOB and SHP are my favorite seasonal scents I admit your description of the cherry blossom scent is very tempting to me! I was fortunate enough to get the orange blossom before it sold out I have the honey peach and wear it frequently.

@riley1 I'm with you - SOB and SCB are my absolute favorites!!! Both scents smell wonderful to me, and both formulas work really well. SCB was also the very first scent i tried from WEN, so I feel I should always have this in my stock. Also, it is so light that I think it pairs well with any other scent/formula that I use. I loaded up on everything they made in BOTH scents during this visit, but I want these all year round, so maybe it's not so bad?

Hi @riley1. The SCB smells nothing like PJP to me. I really love PJP and have everything in it but the SCB, I was not too taken on with it. I tried the EDP and sent it back. I don't liie the undertone it has. I do have the styling creme and I didn't send back the CCs I got. The EDP was a different thing though because that you use FOR scent. I don't get it in anything anymore. The spring scents are my least favorite. I love the Orange Blossom though, that one's nice and I got the small EDP from Chaz on his 40% off sale. I wanted to get the ancillary products in that but I've ordered other things and I can't get ALL the things I want at one time. So, my opinion is PJP smells nothing like Cherry Blossom. PJP is more rosey, nature kind of scent but the SCB is much more floral, to me. Anyway, my favorites are the summer, fall and winter seasonals. Just like Chaz, I'm obsessed with WRC. My INBT in that should be delivered today. CANNOT WAIT. Just a thought. If you try the SCB and find you really don't like it, you can always return it. QVC is wonderful in customer service. I must have called them three times to hurry up and ship something. They don't care I call alot, they're always very nice. They DO have to go by the rules and I had to wait until the ship date. That's okay though.

That must've been the SCB launch @riley1.

I had one 16oz SCB cc, and thought I could rule SCB out, wouldn't be buying any more.

My initial thought was I never smelled cherry blossoms, but this smells like 'motel soap', just a generic, pleasant, soft, soapy floral. Nothing special.

This is ANOTHER thing about Chaz's scents ... some of them have to sneak up on you. If you don't like it, just put it away for a season or so, then smell it again.

That SCB cc smells so good to me now. The 'soapy-ness' is gone, and I smell the cherry bark and other soft notes that I couldn't smell last year. I want the SCB EDP, oil and NIBT now, because I want to smell like this!

@riley1 as to your comment about oils having a different smell, I noticed that 'off' note with the first oils I bought (SCLV & FVWP) and I posted here asking if others experienced that too.

After reading and comparing oil ingredients and getting all the launch dates in order I've concluded the following:

It all depends on the blend of oils Chaz chooses, and the most recent, WRC & STP are true to their scent. No 'extra' notes added by the oils themselves. That suggests Chaz is aware of the issue and steadily improving his products.

@x Hedge - SCB had me from the first inhale, lol. I'm so hooked on it and have everything in SCB - each product smells like the CC. And, my hair responds well to it.

I find most of the products do smell the same and some are just "off". Not bad mind you, just "off".

So, now for spring/summer I'm good with SCB & SOB. I have one more SHP finish and I think I'm done with the summer scents.

For fall, I have one more FTP and I won't repurchase.

Winter I'm good with WVM (still working on a gallon). While the new WRC worked well on my hair, I just couldn't take the "scent" all day. It seems anything loaded with roses, peonies or heavy floral just turns me off.

Maybe Chaz will bring in a new winter scent to try!

I did some damage yesterday shopping, but I'm a happy Wen gal!!

All I can say is thank goodness the gallons don't tempt me.

I think I'll have to try to cleanse daily throughout the summer to power through some stash. I did that last year and was surprised at how well my hair responded to extra cleansing.

Was thinking just same thing @x Hedge - to cleanse daily to power through most of my stash quicker.

I grew to hate looking at lots of bottles just sitting there for long-long time collecting dust. $$$ tied up also.

I'd rather have space and feel free to buy new things on the visits and have a very reasonable fresh stash.

I thank you for encouraging me to extra cleansing by saying your hair responded well to it. Glad to hear this!

Can you be so kind and elaborate on just WHAT was your hair's response? Did it grow faster, or thicker, stronger??? TIA!

My hair became stronger, much more flexible &resilient, felt softer and more pliable, less brittle. Curls looked much better, stayed hydrated longer, less frizz.

I'd lost about a third of my hair (due to illness) before starting WEN and it continues to get thicker every year. It has all grown back, and more, but with the extra cleansings last summer neighbors (about same age) who were unaware of my illness/hair loss were commenting on how thick and long my hair is.

Also, I had been applying TT cc to scalp for first cleanse 2 to 3 times per week to address itchy scalp. But since using TT almost daily last summer the itchy scalp went away completely.

When I went back to cleansing twice a week the itchy scalp did not return. I took a break from TTcc nearly all winter, and still no itchy scalp!

Plus, extra cleansing helped me stop dawdling through my hair routine, and I started to practice and experiment with ideas I saw on Chaz's videos.

I take meds that create a lot of skin and hair issues, and WEN helps me look and feel much better.

Thanks so much for the detailed reply @x Hedge! 💋I am cleansing every day now with TT mostly now. Think it’s the healthiest for me right now and because I 5 sealed bottles of it and one is coming on TSV! It is my fav among core CCs, so I ordered TSV with it. Like can’t go wrong with TT! I’m used to it’s scent and actually enjoy it even in RTM! Glad to hear Wen is done so much for the health of your hair!!

@x Hedge, @sonechko - That is exactly how I reduced some of my stash or "not" likes. I washed more and kept using the ones I wasn't crazy about first. With the warmer weather upon us, I can air dry more often and decrease my inventory!

@x Hedge @sonechko @riley1 I always cleanse everyday..My hair does not style right if I don't..(even before Wen) One of the greatest things about Wen like Chaz says the more you use it the better.. I don't blow dry, I just put the (self cling rollers in) finish all my other stuff & then hit the rollers with blow dryer at the end..
