I purchased a set of 4 or 6 about a year ago from Ulta or Sephora. In the beginning I really liked them, but after two or three times, they stretch out. Once they stretch out, they don't spring back to their original shape. Then, I found I had to wrap my pony tail too many times and it didn't secure it very tightly.

I think some of the reviews said this was a problem. One reviewer said she used cold water to help shrink them back into shape. Too much trouble for a ponytail holder!

I heard scrunchies are beginning to make a come back! They get my vote for coveted accessory for sure, LOL!

Scrunchies don't stay in place for me, and they put a 'crease' in my hair that has to be washed out
I've found a new way to twist & wrap my overnight 'pineapple' from an idea I found on one of Chaz's videos. Works great. But these spiral things would be ideal for holding my 'pineapple' if my hair length was above my shoulders. Just once around. Doesn't have to be tight like with a ponytail.

@x Hedge I love those spiral twists. Just put all my WEN styling products in - twist it up wet and I have curly hair. I have a few of the Goomee brand -basically all made of the same material so what Lori offered was a good deal which I bought.

o @jpie Lori did say you could put them in hot water to reshape them. I haven’t tried that yet -mine are all still good.

The Dollar Tree now carries these spiral twists, so there must be a steady demand. I saw them yesterday, choice of 2 sizes. 5 to a pack for $1.00. Didn't buy any though.

You can tell they're meant to only go around the bundle of hair once, not twist and be looped a 2nd time. So with straighter hair I would choose this for a pineapple, but not a good choice for a ponytail, unless I was planning to cut off the spiral thingy.

With enough whirly hair texture you could use this for a ponytail, but I can't see how it wouldn't get caught in there when my hair is dry. I mean, even my own fingers get caught in my hair. Curious.
