@x Hedge I am new to Wen and was reading that you premix your Wen with water before you shampoo. I am going to the hairdresser tomorrow and I want to take my Wen. I thought it would be easier if I mixed mine up. How much water vs amount of Wen do you use? TIA

I’m not @Hedge , but I also pre-mix my CCs and I’ll tell you what I do. It depends on the formula, but a general rule of thumb for me is about a minimum of one-quarter to maximum of one-third water. The denser the formula, the more water I use. I would start out with the least amount of water that you think would work for you since you can always add more.

But I have to say that like most things about the CCs, it’s really a matter of experimentation to find out what works for you.

@77yangya When I saw that quote, I had to post it. We have two dogs and a cat. The cat was the last to enter our home and he definitely "rules the roost".

I just made my bottle up this morning...319 whipped up, both cleanses.

So great to just pour it out and not count pumps, etc...

I always caution people who want to try pre-whipped WEN, this isn't a way to 'cheat' on the amount of WEN you use. The pumps are still counted out, but it's done in advance. Because it's pumped out, then whipped up to double the volume, you're actually using what looks like MORE.

Pumping it out in advance is especially important if you like to blend different formulas, as I do. This eliminates bottles rolling around under foot in the shower, or dropping handfuls of precious WEN while you're trying to pump & blend in the palm of your hand. Also, I like to spread Tea Tree on my scalp and let it sit there 10 minutes while I'm showering & washing the length of my hair with another formula(s). Oddly, I find it easier to do that with whipped TT.

Oh yes @x Hedge great info...I made the comment no more counting pumps, but I meant because it was already mixed up...I love this method also because my hair is so so thin, and it is just way easier to rinse..

@quadmimi, I knew what you meant, I just wanted to clarify for those who read here who may be unfamiliar with the subject.

There are crazy reviews by people advising others to use LESS then the recommended amount of WEN, and I wanted to be clear that using WEN that's been pre-whipped until about doubled in volume does not mean you can use less. You should use the pumped-out amount recommended by Chaz for your hair (length, texture, thickness) : )

@x Hedge Good idea.. Plus with fine baby thin hair like mine, I just can't say enough how much easier the rinsing is. We have a shower filter, but water is still not great, so this really helps..

.We are going to be staying at a place in March that has soft water, so I am anxious to see how my hair & Wen react in much softer water..

Easy, thorough rinsing, that's another bonus @quadmimi. It's a year now, and I haven't found any downside to pre-pumped whipped WEN.

I only had the chance to shower with softened water one time, but that was before I used WEN.
I was told my skin and hair would still feel slippery, even when it was thoroughly rinsed. They were right!

@x Hedge and @quadmimi I am fortunate to have good soft water where I live and my hair does still feel slippery when it is rinsed. Might also be part of the reason why I need very little leave in CC

Also it's hard to believe it's been a year that we've been pre-whipping WEN but I know it has. Time sure does go by fast
