WEN product dates

I love all of my WEN products, don't get me wrong, and I know that after a product is opened, it has two years to use up..

HOWEVER, what about the perfume? Just got my 619 'BIG DEAL' today, and the 619 lotion has a date of 9-2015 but the perfume has the same date....I know the shelf life can't be the same for this....looks like QVC just wanted to clean out their inventory or something...so now I don't know if the 619 is the 'correct' smell......Yes, I could call QVC and I will, but wanted some feedback.....

@Hot2, my initial thought is forgot QVC . . . instead email or call customerservice@chazdean.com, ask your question, then let us know what they said.

I always email so they have my original question if their answer leads to a second question from me.

@Hot2. It's funny I saw your post about this. Several years ago I took advantage of a special on the 613 EDT, it was practically buy one get one free. I bought a few of the sets. Shortly after I purchased them the EDP came out and I thought the same thing, The other day I found the last of the stash in my closet and opened it and used it, it was fine and that has to be in there close to two years.

I really don't even look at the dates when I get WEN. I know I have some stuff that I got 2-3 years back and have had this situation for a while. From deal buying. I have never had an issue, and that includes 2 years after opening. When I have a CC that I don't use year round, I close it up again between seasons. I think it is about the longest lived brand I have ever used. I do keep a good inventory list though and I date each item. That way, if I need a new TT SC, I am grabbing the oldest one of the shelf first.

I used to let this bother me as well, until I experienced using some of the WEN products that were technically out of date. I've never encountered one single problem with an expiration date. So I don't bother looking at them anymore, because it doesn't really matter. I still have a gallon of summer mango coconut that I opened two summers ago and it's still going strong.

I agree @SurferWife that I've had older bottles on the shelf that were fine when I opened them and I've also kept newer bottles open a long time and had no problem. But it still urks me a bit that QVC would be selling 3 year old product. Luckily, I'm planning on opening it soon.

I guess I am not a die hard Wen fan....at least anymore. QVC should not allow this to happen and neither should Chaz Dean.

Maybe QVC and Chaz should address this issue next time he is on air. I'd just love to see this happen. Wouldn't you? It's called Full Disclosure of MFG Dates.

Yes, I think it should be required if it isn't already. Chaz Dean charges a lot for his products. He lives a very glorous life. His dogs are treated like royalty. I've tried WEN previously and it was not for me. I suspect I lack the patience to give it a chance to work, and that's ok. I do, however, like Chaz and think he is an outstanding human being. So I read the boards even though I don't use his product .

@CalMom In my opinion you had a valid point re expiration dates and that facilitated a larger discussion for expiration dates in general on cosmetics and skin care. I think that's a great idea and one the industry should move towards enacting.

Your paragraph above though really detracts from that original point. It sounds more like a personal dislike of Chaz and his "glorious life" and frankly makes me question the intent behind your original complaint. You lose credibility and your point gets lost amidst personal insults ("deaf, dumb, and blind").

So since we're being honest lets go.Some around here have a long history of

"stirring the pot" they claim to be Wenners but truly aren't and have never been. Some

posters are notorius for this. Check their posts. I can go back as far as 2011. Are certain folks looking for attention? Again?

What is the problem here? Is this a jealousy issue? Chaz is living a good life? What's that about? Why would anyone even say that? Chaz has a successful brand and is trusted by many. I trust Chaz wholeheartedly and I take offense with some who attempt to tarnish his reputation. They should be as honest and giving.

Now as far as old product and manufacturing dates, doesn't bother me in the least. I have plenty of product that lives in my basement when I'm ready to use it I open it and use it. I have never had a bad product.

It would be nice if some used their energy to do some good in the world.

Hi, I just want to make a general statement.

My original post or posts was about MFG dates on bottles that were well beyond 2 and even 3+ years.

The attacks on myself by certain Wen users and supporters unfortunately, resulted in my comments about his homes and lavish lifestyle. I've met Chaz (in May 2013) and he is a very warm and friendly man. I know that QVC is concerned with their bottom line but also feel that Chaz knows about the issues with MFG Dates. He seems very thorough and on top of this. I stand by my comments regarding selling old product that I expected to be new. Please, I don't need to hear about how you have your product for 2 years open with an MFG date, x years ago. Thanks!

I have a question for you, unrelated to WEN. It is sincere, so please do not think I am trying to be snarky or mean.

Since you are concerned about the age of your products, I am wondering if you know of, or use, a brand(s) of personal care products that do have a manufactured date on them. In clear language, not code. I use higher-end products, not cheapies, but outside of those that have an ingredient overseen by the FDA which have expiration dates (like spf), none of mine have ever had any sort of date of expiration or manufacture (other than a batch code). I’m talking about things like shampoo, body lotion, essential oils, serums, etc.

I’m concerned about what I put on my hair and skin and if you know of any companies that do provide that information, I’d be very much interested in checking out their products further.

@FleaMktQn This person truly is sad, it's a hair product, if you aren't happy don't buy it..The product details have been provided to "her" and everyone many many times.

Hopefully she will be done with Wen & go buy a bottle of something else that "no one knows" how long it's been sitting there...I am gonna go cleanse my hair with my "52 year old bottle of Wen"..:womanvery-happy
