Thank you so much @x Hedge for reaching out to Chaz's customer service on my behalf! That's why I need my Wen tribe - I had never thought to do that! You're so sweet & I really appreciate it! 💜
So far, no bald spots or missing plugs but it sheds a lot. The sink & floor are covered in bristles & they come out in my hand when I pull the excess hair from the brush. I've only used it twice, so I will keep my fingers crossed that it stops. If not - I will follow up with CS.
Thank you so much again for your help! 😘

Hi Wen beauties!
I need some expert advice regarding the Wen round brush & those who use it. I've been using a dense nylon bristle round brush to blow dry my hair. Lately I've noticed breakage on my hair's outer layer. My stylist even commented that I was tearing my hair with those stiff sharp bristles. My hair is very long, mid-back, and fine (although very healthy, thanks to Wen) and it takes a while to blow out. I want to try the large round brush that Chaz offers but when I've used wooden brushes in the past I've experienced frizz. And I'm concerned that the natural bristles won't pick up enough hair. I'm not an expert dryer by any means, so it has to be easy to use! Before Chaz comes to town and I make the investment, I'd like to know if any of you fine, straight and long-haired gals have had success with this brush. I hate to give up my metal brush but the health of my hair comes first! Thank you all very much for any guidance you may share! 💖💖

I don't have your hair type, but the last thing you want t o use while blowdrying is a metal brush. They heat up too much and burn your hair.

Just checking - are you using a heat protectant whenever you blow dry? If not, I would change that first, then address the brush. You can use the WEN styling cream as a heat protectant or pick one up at the drugstore,

I have a lot of fine wavy hair. I have the same issue with frizz as you do when using the round brush. I bought the Tangle Teezer brush duo (A284409) and I get much better results with that.

I cant use a brush while drying hair. Need 3 hands.

Speaking of hairbrushes, (Chaz's) Gina hinted that a new brush was coming soon. She held it up very briefly on BeautyiQ tonight. (It's Wen's-day).
Looked like a styling brush.

YES! @Chefgal411, Chaz always points out the nylon bristles scattered among the boar bristles on his round brushes. The nylon stand out a smidge longer than the boar, and they "grab" the hair and keep it in place, hold the tension while drying without you having to pull hard. As @RipleyGirl said, see Chaz's website for lots of helpful videos.

Yeah, Hedge nailed it. It tugs nicely so you get a good blow dry. Enough tension on the section of hair makes mine so very sleek and bouncy. I have a natural wave in my hair, it's fine but a decent amount. I cut it to the top of my shoulders last May and now it is to the middle of my back so it grew all that length in less than one year. By this May it'll have another couple of inches. In the shower, I find it's quite challenging to cleanse very long hair. It used to be down to the top of my hind. I could feel it slapping on my hind cheeks in the shower while cleansing, I used to crack up. To those who aren't good at blow drying, there are MANY great videos of blow dries on youtube. I found one where these girls are in school and one of them is blow drying a girl with very long hair in front of the rest of the class. I do mine like that and WOW! It's great! It took me years of practice but I can do my own hair and get salon results. I would love to work on a model but alas, I have none. My husband is unwilling and his hair is really short. His hair is nice though, naturally black and thick with some white coming in but I'm way more platinum, hmm, genetics...sniff, sniff, anywho, his hair is extremely dry though, almost no sebum but mine is a grease pit. I cleanse every other day. However, yeah, Hedge has the right idea. Thank you to anyone listening to my ramblings. XO

Wow! What great replies! Thank you so much to all who took the time to respond!
Firstly, OF COURSE I'm using styling cream - I'm a Wen girl! I do the recommended routine faithfully - cleansing, two pumps of CC as a leave-in, two pumps styling cream & lots of mousse. So, I think I have that covered 😉 @x Hedge, @77yangya & @RipleyGirl your feedback has informed & helped me decide to go for the Wen brush - plus you made me laugh! Also, I didn't realize there were instructive videos on Chaz's site! Definitely going to check that out, as well as YouTube - which I never seem to have time for. Thank you all so much for your help! Love my Wen girls!! 😘

@Chefgal411 I rarely would say to someone that they may want to stop using something from Chaz, but here's why. This is only because of your fine hair. Obviously being AA means we don't have the same type of hair.

However, I also wanted to do the blowdry and was just learning. I watched Anna Lee's video and Chaz's blow dry on AA hair. I started to feel the same sense of something not being right that you had. I started thinking the brush may be a little harsh on my hair because I saw breaking strands. I then found out that since my hair is relaxed, which weakens the strand, I should definitely stop. Sure enough, Chaz only is shown doing a blowdry on natural AA hair.

Which all leads me to think, that if you have fine hair like I do and you start to see stripping or breakage, it may just not be worth it. I hope you find the solution for you whether it be heat protection of stopping using the brush. I got about six of them with kits and used them for Christmas presents at my office. It was a huge hit.

Hi @Kjelle & thank you for your reply. Actually, the breakage/damage I've experienced (I think) is due to my usage of a metal barrel brush with sharp nylon bristles, not Chaz's brush. I'm trying his large round boar bristle brush, hoping to minimize the breakage. I'm sorry they didn't work for you - I'm sure the challenge of blow drying fine hair that's also relaxed is a big one! Good luck! 😉
I also have a follow up question: I bought the brush already, as I couldn't wait for Chaz's visit. I love it! I'm working on the learning curve of suctioning my hair but - all in all - I've found the brush picks up enough hair, is easy to use & the result is great. My hair looks so much smoother & NO FRIZZ! Yay! BUT - my bathroom floor was littered with boar bristles! Yikes! Is this normal? Do I have a defective brush? 😣
If any of you know, please respond! Thank you!
Thanks again, Wen beauties for all the great advice! 😘😘😘😘

It seems they "shed" a lot when new too.
