I am trying to like this fragrance, and wondering did I get a different formula than others.

I keep getting this " cat litter, earthy " smell to it. I don't smell any citrus, no lavender or eucalyptis , or any of the othe scents in it that I was drawn to.

I put it on last night. Tried again this morning, waiting to see if the scent changes any while I am wearing it. The body treatment to me is not as strong, so layered it .

I keep reading how people LOVE this scent from the get go.

We all have different body chemistry...maybe your's just doesn't like "Light". Or it could even be your nose. I know things that smell wonderful to others sometimes don't to me.

Example: My sister-in-law wears a certain fragrance exclusively. She loves it, she gets compliments on it all the time (I've been there when she gets them). I don't think it smells good AT ALL on her. I've never tried her fragrance on myself...so it's not my body chemistry, it's the way my nose perceives the fragrance.

I'm allergic to real French lavender, so I've only smelled a small sample briefly. (Syntheitic lavender, like the lavender vanilla fragrances used in a lot of laundry products, doesn't bother me.) I definitely got lavender off it and had to trow the paper I sprayed it on away, wash my hands, and throw away the sample. It was a pleasant fragrance, but I knew it would trigger my asthma if I used it.

@CoastalGal I received the sample that came with my CA gallon in June and I did not care for the scent at all. I wouldn't even be able to describe the scent but it definitely wasn't for me.

Exactly, this is why I knew Light would be perfect on hubby. I even like the fragrance more on him than on myself (although I still like it on me).

Scent is so individual as we all know, I'm sorry for those who don't experience what I have. I was reading all the reviews and I finally got to try it first hand. I'm really in love with it , for me it's right up there with my (and @Drythe) beloved 613. I actually put a few dabs on early today and I can still smell it late at night. For me, the name perfectly describes this scent. I hope my DH will wear it as well @nikki48.

LOL I am not a fan of the scent either but I literally LOL'd when you described it as a "cat littter" scent! I haven't had cats in years so don't really remember what it smells like but that is quite the interesting descriptor! lol!

Anyway, I am sure, like with any other scent, what is some people's "love" is others "yuck." We are all so different so you shouldn't wonder what is wrong if you don't love it like some others do. In terms of WEN scents, I don't like the 613 scent at all nor the FAS but some just love it. I actually do like the scent of the cucumber aloe CC because, to me, it is so fresh and clean smelling but many do not. *shrug*

I despise that perfume Pink Sugar but boy some just go ga ga over it. I can smell it a mile away too and it makes me ill. Same with Philosophy's amazing grace- I think it is one of the most stinky scents out there but it is some people's signature scent so go figure. Again, Amazing grace is a scent I can smell from a mile away and I tend to run the other way, lol!

Anyway, I don't worry about what others like in terms of scent- I just know what I like and I just enjoy it.

I'll try that.

I will say the body treatment is not as bad, but there is one key note, that is the one smell that keeps getting me. I remember there was a scent at the Body Shop called Dewberry that people loved, I bought the lotion, and it has this same smell. I kept tryiing to like it and did not want to to waste the lotion but it was just so "earthy" smelling and not in a good way.

Maybe its the cedarwood that is the scent I dont like.

I don't like it either. I also don't care for SHL but really like all of the other seasonal EDP's except for light and SHL. After using WWC and SHP I may have to purchase both of these in the larger sizes at some point. Of course, I already knew that I would like both of these fragrances since these are two of my favorite seasonal scents.
