Glossing Treatment? Chaz does on his Wen models!

I wanted to get opinions on this. I hear Chaz mention frequently that he "glosses" the Wen girl models during his QVC shows. This glossing is a treatment he applies to their hair, not glossing serums you buy OTC. Salon brands like John Frieda & Cellophanes glossing are examples of what I'm speaking of. I'm relaxed never colored before & would like to try the clear one. Has anyone tried this at home yet? If so, what brand? I wonder what brand "gloss" Chaz uses at his salon on his clients?

Has anyone had the chance to chat with Chaz about this on social media yet?

Glossing treatments on his models seems to be the foundation/staple to how shiny their hair looks during his appearances IMO in addition to the Wen products used.

Since this is a method Chaz raves about I feel this should be looked into further in order for us to mimmick his results on the models as best as possible. This may be a good add-on for some of us to our Wen regimens. I know I could always use more shine to my hair... I love it!

@course24 The glossings Chaz refers to is a special process he created/invented for salon clients. It's not a typical "glossing" that you can buy at retail.

There are a lot of drugstore products for glossing. Check the shelves ... I bought a bunch of them to try to see which I like best. They all are pretty good.

Takes a tiny drop in the palm of your hand, rub hands together and run through hair and VOILA - fantastic shine.

He does, but a glossing serum isn't the same as a salon glossing. A glossing serum washes out and the glossing process offers longer-term benefits that last several weeks, more like a dye process.

I'd like to add that glossing serum or glossing treatments are not necessary for everyone to achieve beautifully shining hair. My hair glistens like a crown since I've been using WEN and I don't gloss at all. In fact, I don't color my 63 year old head of hair and the gray just adds to the sparkles.

Okay, for what it's worth, bruingirl is right because I emailed Chaz's site and asked them what this is and they said the same thing. It's something Chaz made/invented on his own. It's not a glossing serum and it lasts, it does not wash out after first cleanse. I was curious about this too when I kept hearing Chaz talk about it. I can't remember the formulation but it's a few things he already uses with some vegetable something or other mixed in. I'm sure it's made in the lab though and used only in his own salon, not for sale to the public.

I know it would not be exactly the same, but I have had something similar done to my hair when I was still having highlights put in my hair at the Aveda Salon & Spa I still go to for trims and so on (maintenance I guess you'd call it). I don't color or highlight my hair now so it stays quite shiny for the most part. 😊

I love Chaz, and I know it wasn't him that said it but he didn't invent glossing. You can get it done at any salon that does color. It's done by mixing conditioner and hair color so the color doesn't cover as opague. It's basically just a way to refresh the color.

Thanks for the tip on Aveda Salon doing it! I just want clear glossing w/o color. So either I will try there or get it done whenever I get to west coast and have Chaz's team do it in there salon (on my bucket list). Sounds like something you may not want to try at home w/ a Cellophanes or Frieda brand product.

No problem @course24. Here is a little explanation of what it is described at as part of Aveda's Salon & Spa...

Service: Glossing Treatment

Revive and enhance existing color with this root to end semi-permanent treatment. Alone or in addition to a regular color service, glossing treatments add shine and leave hair smooth and refreshed.

Here where I live in Wisconsin is runs anywhere from $10 to $25 for a glossing

treatment at our Aveda (there prices vary from location to location).

I have never had Chaz's glossing treatment and don't want to imply this is the exact same thing. Just an idea for people who don't want their shine to wash out. 😊
