Finally mousse success!

Hi guys, just wanted to share that after all this time, I finally found a way to make the mousse work for me. I find that adding even like 40 pumps to dripping wet hair made absolutely no difference in my hair. Adding it to half-dry hair made it a bit dull.
Anyway, I have about 3 bottles of mousse and I decided to try one more thing- I added about 1/3 a dropper of oil into my palm full of mousse and scrunched it into my half- dry hair.
OMG- my hair dried with tons of volume and shine. I am so happy.
I think I may have to get some 319 mousse now so that I can use different oils on different days without competing with the smell of the mousse.
Do any of you know if Chaz is planning on doing any fall (FTP/FGP) mousses? I know there was some mention a while back about a WVM mousse.

Glad you found what works! He did have FTP mousse last year and as its my favorite scent I will be looking forward to it this year. It may be in special sets as it was last year.

@nikki48 I can't believe I missed that- I love FTP as well. I was a little upset when I realized that I had missed the opportunity to get some mousse during summer but I only would have wanted the SMC and I don't think the kits with the summer mousses came in SMC.

I guess I will wait and see what happens. I just feel a bit panicked b/c I am so well stocked on everything else and only have a couple of bottles of mousse.

O/T- has anyone come up with any goid uses for the SC other than in the hair? I recently stopped using it and I have about 8 bottles that I don't want to waste. I wonder if they would work as some sort of protectant on the skin - like to seal in moisture or prevent dehydration.?

@kesstrain and @nikki48 -Right now both the FTP and FWVP mousse are available on Chaz's site - hopefully it will come soon to QVC. I will have to try adding the oil - I love the WEN mousse!

Thanks @qtrmoonlady1. I appreciate the head's up. I will wait and see what kkinds of kits Chaz brings to the Q. Fingers crossed on a kit with FTP like the amazing summer kits like the CC/mousse combo. This past summer IMHO had the best deals on kits- the CC, oil, RTM was an insane value- I bought 5 in SMC!

If you are looking to stock up and your hair likes the rice formulas try the rice duo. I am loving the BGT right now and going back for the MIF. 2 bottles for $50 is also a good discount. I am waiting to see if it goes on special when Chaz arrives.

Not stiff at all! It makes my curls "pop" and they are shiny, defined and bouncy. I use it on my soaking wet hair so it melts and blends right in. Don't think traditional mousse.

@Ms X@ - @nikki4 is absolutely right - it is not like traditional mousse - it has a much more watery consistency and you need to use more of it than the tradional kind. I use 20 pumps myself, some, like the OP, use more. You just have to experiment and find how many pumps work for you. Happy Moussing!

@qtrmoonlady1 Thanks so much for that advice! How long does a bottle last if you have to use that much? I'm primarily interested in using it for the front area at the top of my head, though I'd have to use it all over if the texture of my hair would then be inconsistent. I hate the sticky and stiff feeling of the stuff my hairdresser uses, though it definitely makes the hair look better.

@Ms X It's hard for me to say how long a bottle lasts because I have about 14 different ones (yes, I'm a WEN mousse junkie!) and use a different one each day, but I have read that one bottle lasts a long time. Exactly how long that is, i don't know - because I alternate so many of them, it has been months since I've used one up and I can't give you an accurate answer. I do find, though, that I need less of the 613 mousse than the others, probably because, like the other 613 products, it is, as Chaz says, "like WEN on steroids".

@Ms X I use one mousse at a time, about 7 pumps each day. I think one bottle a mousse lasts about 3 months for me. HTH.

@nikki48 The rice mousse duo is a good deal but the scents do not work for me- I hate MIF and BGT is alright but doesn't mix well with the oils I use (SMC,FTP,WVM).

@Ms X- you should definitely give the mousse a try. It is so not sticky that I even sometimes apply it to dry hair and it doesn't make it gross. It can be a bit crunchy if you use a ton of it but the crunchiness will scrunch right out and not leave the hair feeling coated. It gives me great curl definition and volume at my crown that lasts for days!

@Ms X the mousse is great stuff to me. I love it. I use it with SC as directed, but not everyone does. I use quite a bit of mousse in my process (8-12ish pumps), but I only use it every 3 days or so, therefore I get 2-3 months out of the mousse. I used to run out of SC & mousse at the same time, but I now use less SC with the same results.

For me, because of my fine hair that I like to give volume and shape, this is comparable to/less than what I spent on other hair products. I used to have to wash every other day, or sometimes every day, because those products made my hair yucky after day 1. WIth the SC & mousse, I have gone as many as 5 days! But since I work out I can't always go that long.
