What Kind Does Chaz Use?

One of my coworkers asked how Chaz's salon dried my hair, since he says not to use a towel. Ya know, I didn't even think about it when they were washing my hair. As I think back on it, it seemed to be a regular towel like most of us have in our bathrooms. It certainly wasn't a T-shirt with the arms cut off! ha! But I know it must be something special since he always makes a point about not using a regular towel.

Since you both have been to his salon, can you tell me what his employees use for drying the customer's hair? Or anyone else who has been there

I haven't been, but most people who eschew regular towels for hair use microfiber towels or flour sack towels like those from the kitchen.

My favorite microfiber towel was the Aquis towel, but they changed their fabric and later versions were like velcro in my hair, causing more frizz that a traditional terry towel.

Thanks @ChynnaBlue I use the microfiber towels and like them. But when asked what Chaz used in his salon, I was at a loss. You would think I would have noticed that it was different, but I was so busy asking questions of one of Chaz's assistants, that I forgot to specifically check. Now I'm just plain curious, and so is my coworker.

Most clients walk back to the salon chair with hair dripping wet so leave-in and styling products can be applied to soaking wet hair.

@bruingirl Oh, now it all comes back to me. You are correct! Right after Chris washed my hair, he put Re-Moist on, I sat under the halo for 30-40 minutes, and then we went into the other bungalow to wash that off, he just draped a towel on top of my head, walked back to the main bungalow and I immediately sat down in Chaz's chair and he did his thing! Thanks for jogging my memory!

yep - they don't even squeeze my super long hair with the standard salon towels they use. BruinGirl has it correct - just to wipe face & neck and catch the super drips after cleansing & remoist rinse.

at home I use a microfiber turbie to just hold my hair up & away from my face in the morning while getting ready. I carefully unwrap, do a slight squeeze and then put in my additional SC { I do most of my leave-in in the shower on dripping soaking wet hair} by scrunching with my hands and go.

I found some microfiber towels at JC Penny that are bath-size and pretty colors. They look like terry cloth but are thinner, very lightweight and much softer. They don't cause frizz like regular terry cloth--at least for my hair. They soak up water faster, too, which cuts my drying time. I didn't like using t-shirts because my hair was still too wet when I was ready to blow dry and it took forever to get dry! Plus extra drying time means more heat on my hair.

I used to use a microfiber towel, but for many month now I use a bamboo fiber wrap, that looks like terry cloth, or another one, which is bamboo fiber smooth towel wrap. When I want more water absorbing quicker, I use two of them - one after the other or both together on my head.

I really would like to see Chaz to come up with some towels for hair, and setting rollers with some boar bristles in them! Just dreaming.

Meanwhile, I am very happy with bamboo fabric wraps I got on line.

I only press and squeeze the hair with cheap paper towels that have no fibers. I never pull it down the length of the hair. Only squeeze, let go, move and squeeze again. Bounty Basic rocks!

@SurferWife, I just wanted to add one itsy, bitsy, teeny, tiny thing about Simplygoodstuff... according to @sonechko and @Drythe, when Simplygoodstuff uses "snailmail" for product delivery... well, it's been rumored that they actually use real snails... cause the delivery time can be slow and even slower.

lol, sonechko, from what I remember, I think you waited about an eternity to get your bamboo turbie... although it was (eventually) well worth it.

@sonechko...my bamboo head wraps arrived a few days ago. Now mind you I've used turbie towels for years so I thought I was going to love these. Let's see, how can I tactfully say, THEY SUCK! The wrap is too small. By the time I get it buttoned, the wrap has pulled away from my hairline just so that the button can get through the little loop. It fits so tight I gives me a headache. Back to the t-shirt I go! My curls like it better anyway.

@SurferWife I can't use Turbies for the same reason! Now, I do have a big head, but by the time I got the button thru the little loop, 2 inches of my hair showed above my forehead, and it felt like my hair was being pulled from my scalp. Oh, well, no way to know unless you try!

Hi! Here's my little 2 cents. I don't wring my hair at all, of course. After I've applied cc and styling creme while hair is drenched I get out of the shower and take paper towels, some whatever brand and make a long twisty pony tail and just hold the paper towel around it and let the water absorb into the paper towel without any pressure. I do that 2 to 3 times and just clip it up until I'm ready to blow dry. If I let my hair air dry, I look like Robert Plant in a bad way. My hair will not behave and I don't quite know how to do it to air dry nicely. I need a trim though but from a decent salon. Not Super Cuts. I like my ends graduated and they had no idea what I was referring to. I like a nice blunt edge no layers. Oh well. It would be nice if Chaz sold some towels. Hey guys, I saw a photo of a girl with Chaz and she had this cute little bag with the Wen logo on it. It was black with white writing. Someone asked if they could get one but team Wen said no, he does not sell them. Yadda ya gonna do? I like the photos of the micro towels. Very interesting.
