I'm doing my first oil treatment as we speak. I'm using the TT oil and WHOA is it strong! I'm not sure if I'm going to like this one on a regular basis, but I do have the Fig and I love the way that oil smells.

My question is, what is the best CC to get the oil out with the list of CC's I have. The CC's I have are:

613

MIF

FIG

SCM

LAV

TT

SHP

Any of those good for getting it out on the first try? I'm unsure how long I'll keep this on, but how do you know it's working? I hear people say that they get tingles but I got nothing but smell. Is there anything I should notice after I wash or is it just a way to clean the scalp?

I think that's what I'll do. I like TT for my first cleans anyway. I only have two seasonals, SHP and SMC - and I'm dying to try the FGP. I find that the two seasonals i have work great, the only one I haven't liked so far as WVM.

It's shocking how big important that second cleanse can seem lol.

TT CC or any other CC that is a little drying for you. I almost always use TT, or BGT with TT for a first cleanse after the oils. I also often do a dry priming with TT / BGT on oil before I go to cleanse the oil.

Just give it a little more time. It takes a little time but you should feel you scalp getting a cool sensation. I dont always feel it right away but it always comes. As far as the smell, its an aquired pleasure? It is strong but I enjoy it. The eucalyptus is nice and I find it soothing. It also clears the sinuses! I'm not sure if the oils clean the scalp. I think it nourishes the scalp. Kind of like when you put oil on your nails and cuticles at night and your nails seem to grow healthier and stronger....It keeps the scalp moisturized and allows for healthy hair growth. Am I right? Not sure but thats how I tend to view it..

Just wanted to clarify what you meant when you asked "Any of those good for getting it out on the first try?" If you were asking will any of those CCs completely remove the oil with only one cleanse, then (for me) the answer is NO. I always, always, always do two cleanses after an oil treatment. And the first cleanse is always either TT or CA.

But, if you were asking which CC will work the best for your first cleanse after an oil treatment, then I would choose the formula that's the most clarifying for your hair.

Also, like you, I love the smell of the Fig oil. You can always add in a bit of that to help combat the smell of the TT oil.

Maybe it has to do with hair types, but I have no problem with doing only one cleanse after using an overnight oil treatment. I just make sure to cleanse and rinse thoroughly. I never do two cleanses any more. My hair is very fine so it doesn't seem necessary.

Obviously I'm in the minority here but I don't find that TT really helps get all the oil out. It doesn't seem to matter how much of it I use. I've been experimenting lately and for me BGT is the one that really gets it all out. After that I use whatever CC I feel like using for my second cleanse but BGT has pretty much been my first cleanse every day lately.

Well, I used TT for my first cleanse and I scrubbed the heck out of my hair. I hope I got all the oil. My second cleanse was Lav because I'd never used it before and wanted to see how it would work. My leave in was a half pump of Lav CC and a small bit of remoise followed by three pumps of Fig SC mixed with four drops of Fig oil.

I felt like the Lav had a very soft scent. I could hardly smell it at all, but that may have been because of all the TT in the air. I am not sure I will use that oil again for a scalp treatment. I felt like I was inhaling it for a really long time.

I'm air drying so we'll see how it works!

I even created a thread asking for help because I was determined not to send the oil back and wanted the benefits. I think it was called "how to get over the loud smell of TT oil" or something similar. If you do a search of the forums of loud smell of TT you should be able to find it and get some tips there. I got lots of helpful advice and ideas from the ladies here. I now use several ideas that were provided. Cutting the oil with another you like the smell of can help. Dry priming with 613 at the same time helps as well as using a plastic cap. I also try to use TT as a treatment for several hours if I will be outdoors and washing it out later instead of for overnight use. In my opinion, even using these tips the TT still is present but definitely a lot more tolerable.

I find the TT oil (everything in that tsv kit in fact) envigorating!! I was cautious about ordering tsv's other than my pre order TT becasue I read such onconsistent things about the oil smells/treatment value. On tsv day - really late in the day- I ordered CA since I read the cc is great for cleansing after an oil treatment. I received it and the cucumber thyme oil is amazing!!! Between tt and ca, I've done about 5 oil treatments the last 2 weeks. The hair on my temples has thinned, that's where I'm concentrating my treatments.

Brave girl starting with a Tea Tree oil overnight Tx! Kinda like jumping in with both feet! I don't have a lot of variety in my CC collection but the TT CC has always done a good job cleansing the oil. The Tea Tree oil is very strong but if you keep using it you'll most likely get used to it. I actually got the Home and Away oil sets in SAM and LAV expressly to use in combo. with the TT oil. I wanted sents that were of the same type ( herbal not fruity) and the mix really does make the TT more tollerable. Also wrapping your hair up helps too. Now that I have this past TSV in in TT SAM and FIG I'm set for oils for a good long time! Hope your hair gets better and better with WEN!

I'm not sure if I'll do an overnight treatment again, maybe just cut it down to a few hours. Either way, I'm glad I tried it.

THanks everyone!

The TT oil was the first one I tried and it does take some getting used to. The first time I tried it my husband asked what that smell was because it was all over the house. I always apply the TT oil two or three hours before I'm going to bed. The smell doesn't seem that strong after that and I have no problem sleeping.

The first time I ever used TT oil I thought I smelled like I had doused my hair in Pine-sol and had the worst nights sleep ever.

@Beautoxica and @Diva1Donna I did a quick search and the thread is still there with all the replies intact:

Suggestions on how to get past the loud smell of Tea Tree Oil

Unfortunately, since it's old thread it's archived in the Beauty forum.
