QF Dream Jeannes Capri Pants - Do they shrink?

I just received the TSV today and love, love, love my first purchase of anything from QF. These are so, so soft! They are probably one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I have ever worn. They will be great to travel in.

My question is: Do you find the Dream Jeannes shrink when washed? The pants are great, but maybe a tad more room in them than needs to be. They are not baggy, but not form-fitting either. Is this how they normally run?

I'm wondering if I should return them and take a chance on one whole size smaller, or if after I wash them they will be exactly right.

Would appreciate any feedback you can give on your experience with this particular Capri and QF in general when it comes to shrinkage.

No, they don't shrink. I find they stretch a little in the waist after I wear them 3 times. I size down when I buy them because like a form fittling jean. If you are not happy with the fit, return them and go down a size. If something doesn't fit, it doesn't fit.

@World Traveler If I were you I'd put them on and wear them a few hours. If anything they tend to "grow" as you sit and stand. I always order down a size when I buy the knit pants. I agree, they don't shrink.

Don't put them in the dryer and they will not shrink .... just let them air dry! 😀

@January121 Thanks for your response.

My thinking is, if they do NOT shrink then maybe I should exchange them for one size smaller. Right now they are just a slight bit bigger (not a lot, just a tad) than I would like them to be in the seat/butt area. Otherwise, they are fine everywhere else, like the waist, hips, and legs.

I was kind of hoping that they would shrink ever so slightly. But if they don't (which in most cases would be a good thing!), then I better ship them back and get the smaller size. Was just afraid the next size down might be too tight in the seat. If, as was stated earlier, they "grow" as you wear them, then maybe the size smaller would be just right.

@z-del Traveler. If they are looser than you prefer before you've worn them, I would definitely send them back for the smaller size. I debated between small and medium and ended up ordering the medium. I could have worn a small, but I wanted a more relaxed fit. The small would have fit me like the large did Carolyn when she presented them...more legging than pants.

@Trudey .... we shouldn't judge the fit by using Carolyn as a guide ... in my opinion she wears her clothes too tight & they don't look good on her .... I love Carolyn & I wish she would wear her correct size.

@Trudey Thanks, pretty sure I'm going to do that. Haven't had a chance to wear them at least once outside the house, because our weather right now is on the cooler side. In a few days we are to have much warmer weather. I'll wear them all day then. But I've got the feeling sending them back is what I need to do. Hate to pay the return postage fee to exchange sizes.

@Trudey Just reporting back on your suggestion that I return the capri pants for a smaller size. I wore the pants several times, washed them in cold water on gentle cycle, and hung dried them. I still felt they could be a little tighter on me, so I returned them for the next size down. So glad I did. Although I enjoyed the little extra width in the waist with the larger size, I much prefer that the smaller size meant there was no bagginess in the seat area.

Now I just need to watch that my waistline stays (or decreases!).
