Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

gloriajean — Sat, 27 Aug 2016 01:09:24 GMT

Hello my friends! Well last night went very well. The little girls only woke for their feedings and back to sleep with no problem! Such little angels! It sure was worth while for us to be there because Darla got seven hours of straight sleep, and she felt so good today!! Praise the Lord!!! They had a nice Anniversary Dinner with our gift cert. and Jim, our friend there, visited with them, and gave them a free dessert! They also had a great time shopping for the twin's for new outfits. They had a very good time and it was so well worth it for us to stay there for them. On the 2nd of Sept. they will be 2 months old and new pictures taken!!!

The blessings of today was a nice visit from our friends, Ann and Ray, they came and gave us some of their garden supply and we had a great visit!!

Think good and wise thoughts over and over again until you make them

your own. Lord, You have given me a strong foundation and the strength

to stand firm for what I believe.

"Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another
with whatever gift each of you has received." ~1 Peter 4:10

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

We can try to be thankful for whatever vision we have. We can try to
perform, in the little things, faithful service to God and others. We
can do our small part every day in a spirit of service to God. We can
be doers of God's word, not hearers only. In our daily life we can
try to keep faith with God. Every day can bring a new opportunity to
be of some use. Even when we are tempted to rest or let things go or
to evade the issue, we can make it a habit to meet the issue squarely
as a challenge and not to hold back.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may perform each task faithfully. I pray that I may
meet each issue of life squarely and not hold back.

A Need Supplied

A young preacher had been away from home and was returning. He did not have much money, just what he had been given in a love offering for his ministry.

He knew if he took out the tithe there would not be enough to cover the expenses to get home. Still he took out the tithe and happily gave it over to the Lord. Then he started to drive down the road.

He drove until he needed gas, praying that the Lord would provide. On what he was sure was the last bit of gasoline in the tank, he pulled into a gas station. Getting out of the car, he counted the little change he had in his pocket and told the attendant that he wanted whatever gas that amount would buy.

The attendant stuck the hose in the tank and went about cleaning the windshield noticing a Bible on the front seat of the car. The gas pump continued to pour gasoline into the tank and the preacher began to get excited.

"You'd better stop the pump. This really is all the money I have," He said.

"Hmmm--OK," the attendant replied, and let the pump go on as he finished cleaning the windows. Inspired from the preacher's pleas the attendant filled the tank to the brim. Then, he led the preacher into the station. Reaching up to a high shelf, he grabbed an old battered lunch bucket. "Would you by chance be a preacher?" he questioned.

The preacher nodded and said he was on his way home from a meeting and was about out of money.

"Well, I thought you might be. I saw that Bible in the car. I am a Christian, but we don't' have a good church around here. So I have been setting aside the Lord's money and asking Him to show me what to do with it."

With that he opened the lunch bucket, reached in and pulled out a fistful of bills and thrust them into the preacher's hand.

"That and the tank full of gas should get you home and help take care of you."

This is a very good story that shows how God will be faithful in supplying all of our needs when we stay true to His word and unwavered in our faith.

If you are worried over a particular situation, then I hope this story will strengthen your faith to know that God will always be faithful to supply every need that you have.

Deuteronomy 31:8 And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed."

Giving to the Lord is our way of showing Him that money is not our source, but God is our source. He is the One that gives us power to get wealth as we read in

Deuteronomy 8:18 "And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

I encourage you to never allow the enemy to make you feel as if giving to God has no reward. You will not know what blessings truly are until you give your tithes and offerings joyously unto the lord.

He promises to pour you out a blessing that you will not have room enough to receive it. If you have not tried God in this, I encourage you to try the Lord and see if God will not do what He said He would do.

Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

I Believe

I believe life is there to enjoy

I believe crushes are there to crush hearts

I believe true love is there from the start

I believe you should give people chances

I believe that good things come to people who work hard

I believe great things come to people who never give up

I believe that silence will teach you something if you listen hard

I believe that the heart leads you in the right direction if you follow it

I believe friends are needed no matter who they are

I believe family should stick by your side

I believe God will help you if you believe in HIM and trust HIM

I believe drugs destroy

I believe sleep calms the soul

I believe the heart and soul are more important than looks

I believe trust helps the world go round

I believe love brings great things

I believe kids could teach adults a lot if they would listen

I believe pets are great because they listen and love you no matter what

I believe you should always chase your dreams

But most importantly I believe in always showing your true colours, just being who you are, and not trying to be more for someone other than yourself.

I've Cried

I've cried to God as I've beheld the world wrapped up in fear,

of lack and death and war that looms to snatch lives held so dear.

I said, "My God' Have you not heard The newsmen on TV?

Do you not know the shape we're in? Do you not care for me?"

"I'm scared, Dear Jesus' Help us, please! There's news of fear and war

and I'm afraid Lord' I admit! Of what might be in store?"

"Peace be still My' child" He said "And hear now what I say,

for I have seen and heard the cries of those who to Me' pray.

Keep your eyes upon ME' now, not what you hear or see

as you do, you'll keep My' peace, if your mind stays on ME."

"It matters not what one man says or even many more,

for I am God' and I decide each day what lies in store."

"I've told you there would be such times when, of these things, you'd hear.

I told you so you'd be prepared and full of peace, not fear."

"For all these things must be fulfilled, yet My' word fails not.

For I am still your hiding place as all the fires rage hot."

"You're hidden beneath My' shadow now, and you can rest in me.

Yes you can trust My' words of love to last eternally."

"For I'm your Father' Counselor, and Friend. Your Alpha and your End.

If this was the world's last day, be sure for you I'd send."

"I've promised I'd save you a place, If you would stay in Me'.

Stay pure and faithful, eyes on Me' and victory you'll see."

"I can't tell you if it's 'the end' no human man can know,

but I can tell you, it is close, so be prepared to go."

"Each day I give you, reach in love to save another soul,

for snatching them from Me' for hell is truly Satan's goal."

"Occupy until I come, live each day full in Me'

Just keep your eyes upon My' face and know that I do see."

"I see the world, I see your life, and I do care for you.

Know that, no matter what occurs, My' love for you stands true."

"I'm Alpha and Omega, I'm King and Lord of ALL...

I'll be right near to care for you as, on My name, you call."

"For I can change the hearts of kings, and I their hearts, do try.

I'm the one who formed this world, and says when it shall die."

"So, use this time to seek the lost, and tell them of My' Love.

That they too, may be saved and live with Me' again, above."

"Don't listen to fear's voice, hear Mine' then stand on what you've heard.

Don't fear yours or the world's fate, it's destined by My' word."

"Keep your eyes on Me' my child, and let Me' wipe each tear,

for I am God' and in control... So live in peace, not fear."

August 26 - Jesus Calling

Trust Me in the midst of a messy day. Your inner calm—your Peace in My Presence—need not be shaken by what is going on around you. Though you live in this temporal world, your innermost being is rooted and grounded in eternity. When you start to feel stressed, detach yourself from the disturbances around you. Instead of desperately striving to maintain order and control in your little world, relax and remember that circumstances cannot touch My Peace.

Seek My Face, and I will share My mind with you, opening your eyes to see things from My perspective. Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid. The Peace I give is sufficient for you.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

—John 16:33

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

—Psalm 105:4

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

—John 14:27 -

Hi Gloria and all, Haven't posted in a while, but read your positive postings every day. So happy that the twins are doing so well. What a blessing!

The weather here in PA has been terribly hot most of the summer, and I'm ready for cooler days with no air conditioning.

We are doing fine, helping our daughter get her house in shape. Her divorce was final in March and she's trying to fix things little by little. Got new replacement windows, and new furnace. So she's ready for winter.

Thanks for sharing your baby news with us. Doesn't seem like I will have any babies in my future, so I can live vicariously thru you!

love, Marmot

Harlene, Nancy and Marmot - thanks for posting, Marmot - good to see you again, it's been long! The twins get baptized in the morning - sure hope they won't be crying. This morning I was there baby sitting while their parents went to a baptism meeting at Church, and Aria, who's always so good natured, had something wrong and she was just screaming! It took awhile before I got her feeling content. It was during the time baptism will be tomorrow. Please pray it goes well with the two. Marmot, I'm sure your daughter appreciates all you do for her too. Seems like they always need us, am I right? I will continue to share baby news for you!!
