Online Dating Success

Share my story. Met a wonderful man from online. We live in the same area. My last relationship 5yrs ago, Decided take time before rejoining the dating scene. Highly recommend online though do suggest learning safety measures. Easy to do most dating sites explain the perils of shady individuals. John 6 yrs younger enjoys keeping up with me. Friend's tease me about being a cougar. Truth be told pushed him away at first because of our age difference. I'm so happy he persisted pursuing us.🌷

I am in my 60s and a few years ago I signed up on Plenty of Fish. Was on the site for several months but not active and only glaced through profiles occasionally. One Sunday I watched a movie on pay-per-view that reminded me of someone I dated in 1980. We had remained friends for several years after we were no longer a couple but eventually lost touch.

After the watching the movie I decided to check out who was on POF and as I was scrolling potential "matches" a photo of a handsome man caught my eye and when I looked closer I was stunned to see that if was my BF from many years ago! I tried to be cool and sent him an email saying, "I know this is a longshot but I think we met in 1980..." He responded within an hour and not only did he remember me, he remembered where we met, what my last name had been at the time and many other details of our relationship. Work and travel schedules prevented us from getting together right away so we exchanged emails and talked on the phone over the next couple of weeks. When we finally saw each other in person, the first couple of minutes were a little awkward but it quickly felt as if no time had passed and we were still BF and GF.

We have been inseparable ever since and he is my mate for life!

You go, girl!😉 I think it can be ideal, IF, like you said, you are very careful! When they first became popular my mom new a gal who met Mr. Right! He "lived across country so needed to relocate and find another CEO position"! Poor woman had been a wallflower her whole life, fell for it, and him, and gave him carte Blanche to all her money. You know how it ends...she lost everything! Including her retirement account she built up so many years as a clerk in a local store! At 62 she woke up broke and broken hearted! She called police, turns out he was a local guy who scammed lots of women her age!

However, my dd met our sil online! It was such a good match that 15 days after they met we were all talking marriage! They waited over a year to get married, but it was a true fit! Being careful is key! Their first date was New Years Eve and dinner with our entire family! He agreed to all our "requests" so I knew he was a keeper!

Meet them in a public place. They are not all creepy. I am friends with one for over a year (met on CL), but not a love connection for me,

A relative of mine's neice who is an attorney and had had several relationships, (and had been engaged at least once), met her husband on the eharmony site.

Her mother shared this with me. We went to the wedding. It has been two years now, and they have a little baby boy and seem well suited. I found it amazing that this young woman who attended UCLA and then Hastings Law School still did not find her match. I think the world is so different now. And whatever works for people, I am happy for them.

A co-worker met his wife on match.com. She had two kids. They've been marred six years and he's happy as can be.

Another friend is on match also, but he hasn't had much success yet.

I'm 61 years old and I think it's great as I know quite a few people who have met their "true love" online. I met my DH in a bar in 1977, so I don't think meeting someone online is any different. No matter how you meet someone, you always have to be careful. If any of you watch "Madam Secretary", the actress who plays Daisy, Patina Miller, met her husband online. Whatever works!

Our son met our DIL through a dating site. He was originally dating her roommate, but it wasn't working out....he had met her (the roommate) through the site. One night, after driving home, his cell rang; it was the girl's roommate, who is now our DIL. She told him right out that she was really attracted to him. He admitted he felt the same way. They've been married now for almost 15 years and have graced us with two adorable grandchildren.

After being widowed for 5 years I was talked into going on Plenty Of Fish and I met a wonderful man, 3 years my junior. We have been together as BF and GF going on 2 years.

My son met his wife on the same site.

It is far better than going to a bar, ( no that I did not do, lol) or sitting at home lonely.

My 51 year old neighbor just got married a few weeks ago to a girl he met online, she is only 26 yrs old.He went on some International Dating website, because he says he likes Exotic looking women, she is from Guatemala. We shall see if it lasts!!!!!!

Absolutely, especially as you get older. 6 years is a big difference when you're in your teens or 20s, but once you are both over 35 or so, age difference matters less and less.

My son met a a really nice woman online, she's a little older than he is, but she's the first woman he's been seriously interested in and vice versa. I can't tell you how many online dates he's had that didn't pan out.
