Foolish people

I have encountered so many foolish people here lately that it just leaves me speechless.

The ones that leave trash all over our beaches, the ones that text while driving swerving all over the road endangering all, the ones that are so rude in general for no reason. They all leave me SMH..

How many foolish people have you encountered lately?

There are many we encounter throughout our lives. If they are leaving their trash for others, then that's just irresponsible. Texting drivers, not caring about their lives or others.

Since we now live out of the big city we come across much less foolish people. But when we go downstate to see our kids BAM there they are again!

Hopefully it'll catch somebody's eye to PUT DOWN THE PHONE, TURN IT OFF.

I really wish EVERY automobile accident that says they "crossed the center lane" or "they went off the shoulder and hit a tree" would report WHY. Was is because of a phone? Texting or talking? Alcohol? Drugs? Just tell us WHAT caused the car to cross the center lane or go off the shoulder.

@PINKdogWOOD I don't get it either. Even hands free, I don't understand why you need to be on the phone while driving a two ton vehicle anywhere. It can wait.

I was excited when we got our first phone; probably around 1962 when I was 7. More excitement in 1975 when our phone was installed in our first home as a married couple. Over the moon when our new house was wired for phone service in 1981.

A cell phone doesn't excite me, but I carry one in order to communicate by text with my daughters who are always on the go. My phone is always in my purse when I drive. I don't talk on it in the grocery store, or play with it in the doctors office. My phone is not my entertainment, and I function very well without it. Within the last year I have noticed a new look, which is usually a big satchel purse hanging from the forearm, with a phone held tightly in the hand. I see this look everywhere I go, but I am not now, nor will I ever be that attached to my phone.

@RedTop I too am not tied to my phone and refuse to be. We were in a Cracker Barrel having a meal and saw people with a fork in one hand and their phone in the other while eating. One person actually had two phones going at one time, yep two, texting on both while eating.

Yesterday driving home after errands i noticed a young man (in 20's) riding a bike on the side of the road ahead of me but swaying a bit towards the wooded area...then out

toward the road... at first i was wondering "is he alright??" and figured when i passed him i could check him out....when i passed him HE WAS TEXTING on his phone...i was like OMG he could get hit himself or cause a oncoming car to swerve away....i get so mad when i see people texting in cars...illegal in NY but never enforced...can't they use unmarked police vehicles to catch these texters?? I see them all the time while i am driving......

@kelsey17 It is also illegal in S.C. I have seen people on bikes, scooters and golf carts texting while driving. I have also seen really old people, I am talking 80's texting while driving. Now that is a scary sight.

I asked a police officer if I could report tag numberes of people texting while driving and the response was that they can't so anything unless they see it. So no Citizens Arrest in S.C. I guess.
