Love Field, Dallas, TX

I hope this doesn't get poofed, because it's not political... it's American.

Just watching the President & First Lady land at Love Field for the memorial service today in Dallas, just affected me emotionally.

That is the airport where President & Mrs. Kennedy landed before their fateful day.

It just hit a spot in me remembering history. Thank god now we have better security measures.

It's also very emotional knowing they are arriving there for a memorial service.

I just wanted to share my feelings as an American today.

Well, no longer does the President ride in a convertible down city streets.

The other part of the picture, I have no answer.

Yes, these sad events evoked thoughts of President Kennedy along with all the other national tradegies.

I'm watching the memorial service and I, too, am saddened but remain hopeful because the Dallas community has come together in attempts to share their grief and comfort each other while simulataneously attempting to resist the all too human desire to lash out and hate. I pray for these families in particular and all of us generally.

The people of Dallas are amazing. Like any big city, there are problems, but overall I think it is a very welcoming place. (I do wish they would find some way to handle the homeless dog problem.)

I'm glad there are a number of speakers for the service. And I really admire the Dallas police chief.

The title of the thread reminded me of the movie with Michelle Pfeiffer and Dennis Haysbert, Love Field. If you haven't seen it, it's a good one.
