Turning 60 today

This is the hardest "milestone" birthday so far. I don't feel it but somehow, all of a sudden, sixty sounds old to me.

There's nothing you can do to change this so enjoy your birthday and make it special - positively.

Happy Birthday! I have had my 60th already, and try to work on staying "young" by eating better and getting in some exercise. It feels good to be healthy.

60 is the new 40! With age comes wisdom and freedom. I am 64 and I feel blessed to have made it this far and to be healthy and strong. Relish in the new decade beginning and take this opportunity to become better and stronger and healthier! Happy Birthday!

P.S. - our 60s are not our mother's 60s - look at Susan Lucci - she's nearly 70 and looks amazing and stays active.

Congratulations on #60. May you have many more. I turn 82 in October and am blessed with good health and mind. Having a positive attitude is half the battle.

Congrats! I'm not there yet but I sure am glad that my chances of making it to 60 are good. Went through stage 4 breast cancer and every day, every year, is a wonderful age to be since then.

So, do it up and like another poster wrote - It's not like women of the past who turned 60 and really looked and projected aged looks. We now take care of ourselves, get educated, problem solve (not that we didn't always) and have confidence in our futures and our selves.

Happy birthday! Every changing decade is tough (I actually thought turning 30 was bad......Ha!). I'll be 68 in December, and I still have plenty of life left in me! The years are passing more quickly now, but there definitely is a comfort in aging. Yes, there are a few aches and pains, but also a lot of the other stressfull parts of life are behind me, and that's a good feeling. I really know who I am and no one can shake me anymore. Just stay active in body and mind, and you will be fine for many, many more years!

happy 60th texasmouse! it obviously doesn't feel too happy for you today, but maybe you can get out of that funk you're in by treating yourself to a decadent lunch or dinner in a restaurant you've been wanting to try, or buy yourself a gift you've been eyeing. nothing has to be over the top. simple pleasures are sometimes just the thing we need. hugs to get you through the day😊

I remember feeling that way on a particular birthday. However, the next 10 years turned out to be some of the best. I wish for you all the best.

Can one really look to her as an example? She's had plenty of plastic surgery to look the way she does.

Happy Birthday! I remember feeling the same way about turning 50. It seemed like turning that big 5-0 meant I truly was "middle aged" and I just didn't see myself that way. I don't mind admitting that I clung to 49 for a couple of years after that. I couldn't say 50. But I got over it and went back to accepting that age is just a number, it doens't define us. Now I'm 56 and I suspect that I'll feel the same way about turning 60...lol

Strange the way you feel in comparison to myself. The older I get the younger the decade that comes next, seems much younger. The age of 80 used to seem really old to me, but now since I recently turned "Double Sevens", 80 seems much younger.

Anyhow, enjoy your day and start thinking as an optimist, it DOES make a big difference.

On June 16th, I turned 65, and today is my brother's birthday, he is 69! I hope this helps!
