Where are all the old posters?

I don't know who you mean, but some people changed their forum nickname due to glitches with the site and not all of them mention that in posts or signatures. We also lost some posters when they rolled out the new forum software and people did not like it.

I only discovered this section this spring, and I didn't even realize that it had been around for awhile. I wouldn't know one poster from another. Old poster? New poster? Who cares? It never occurred to me to pay attention to names. What difference does it make? Or, more accurately, what is the difference between the opinions of new versus "old" posters? Curious. i don't know the purpose of the forum section, but it has been interesting once in awhile to read other people's thoughts on a product but I have been disappointed to see some of the simply mean-spirited posts. I was recovering from an injury so I had time to read dome posts and reply, but I doubt I bell continue. Too busy.

I've been on the boards from the beginning. It was more fun back then, more free-wheeling, far less censored. I suspect some left because they miss the fun and especially the humor of those early days. I understand why the powers-that-be felt the need for more monitoring but these boards were often the source of a great deal of laughter. We had a running soap opera of a crazy QVC customer, a mystery about what happened to Jessica Holbrook, and the life of a heathered pantsuit that appeared on QVC for what seemed like decades.

@libbyannE--they have your registered date as 2010, (same as mine), but I've been here since '08.

They gave everyone a newer default date, usually 2010, when the boards changed and everyone lost their post count.

Isn't that crazy they have you as being a registered poster for atleast for six years-- and you just found the forums this past spring?

I am thinking a lot got fed up with the younger generatio, the me, me, me attitudes,the sarcasm, the rudeness, the constant badgering etc.

@Bobbi sue I miss the 'old' posters too. I used to love all the recipes that 'TiesThatBind', 'SusieA' and 'Carol1229' posted a couple of years ago.. I can't think of all the poster's names that I miss, but there are quite of few... I've looked at these boards since 2008...

I could say the same about a few older "esteemed" contributors here who act as if they know all. Not fair to single out the "younger generation" like that.

ETA: There are still some great people here--young and old/new and veteran. While there are lots of reasons to step away from the keyboard from time to time, I am optimistic that in the end the good will prevail.

I'm about as old as we get--age and forum participation-wise. I have been here since the 1990's and have copied recipes to prove it. I'm thinking back as are as almost the mid-90's, but I'm not sure when this all started. Yep I was one of the first. My original name was Springer (for the town, not the dog or Jerry), then a glitch in the software occurred and I changed to Sooner.

Some posters had issues they could not overcome with forum formatting changes.

Some could not stomach the mean-sprited rudeness and/or know-it-alls.

Some probably had health or life issues and just dropped off the internet or forums.

Some had to change their names due to QVC glitches and are still here.

Many "new" posters are not, but don't want any but a select few to know who they "were" for varied reasons, good and/or bad.

I've been here since the late 90s. I've always been dancingwoman. Never had to change my name. One poster that always posted about American west jewelry is Jugtown and I haven't seen her in ages. Peoples lives change and they move on or have different priorities ....ya just wonder sometimes where they are....DW
