Ideas for 70th birthday AND 50th wedding anniversary

All you party animals out there! My friend is looking for an idea for her husband's 70th birthday and their 50th wedding anniversary. They are a week apart. She doesn't want to travel just wants to have a nice party with a theme. Any thoughts? Thanks for any ideas!!

How about a party with a 1950's era theme? Get together a lot of great 50's music...have a sock hop... saddle shoes, poodle skirts, bobby socks, etc.

Play some 50's games (maybe "Name That Tune)." Have some 50's foods (Cheez Whiz, jello molds...maybe jello shots LOL).

They were married in 1966, I think a 1960's theme would be fun. Guests could be encouraged to dress like it was 1966 and someone could do some reseach and have the bartender make drinks that were popular in the 60's. Of course, there would be 1960's music and dancing. To acknowledge her hubby's birthday, perhaps they could dance to a song that was popular the year he was born.

Request a private room at their favorite upscale restaurant for close family and friends. Make a slideshow of their years of photos.

Maybe to drive them to the party she could rent a classic car from somewhere. I once rented a vintage corvette for a weekend for my DH's 50th birthday, and we went away for a nice weekend get a way to the town where he went to college. We walked around campus and he showed me places we had not gone to in many many years.His birthday is in the fall so it was just beautiful to visit a small town in the mountains.

Have a pajama party ,sleepover!Lots of music ,movies ,food and memories , make sure you have a memorie jar so people can write on an index card their fondest memory ,joke or good time that they remember with your husband .
