The first time I started feeling old was when I moved into the 7th decade. I'm semi-active, don't need assistance to move around, and in good health. The toughest part is when you start losing old friends. The 70s is the first time in my life where a new age really gripped me, I really loved every single decade before that. I still don't think of myself as being as old as I am but I'm probably in denial. One of my uncles lived into his mid-90s and plowed/planted a garden every year. He said keeping active and believing in his Lord was his "secret".

Hmmm, don’t know. I’m 63. When I was born my Nonna was 62 years old. She lived to be 103 and a half years old (in her own home).
She was the best example of not feeling old (until AFTER her 100th birthday).
That’s when she finally showed her age.

Prior to that she would say she felt young at heart and had the attitude and awesome mobility to go with!

It is as shown in @SilleeMee post. We go through these stages of age numerically, just like our teenage years. It isn't the condition we are in or our attitude. Embrace yourself!!

According to age charts, maybe, but I don't go by an exact number. Don't let a number dictate who you are or how you perceive yourself. It's about eating right, lifestyle, staying active, and having the right attitude. Someone who's 40 could have abused their bodies and be in worse shape than a 70 yr. old who has taken care of themselves and is still active.
