Karma or Not

For those who have this happen to them in their lives.

What do you think ever happened to the bullies and the stalkers of your past?

I am a senior now and gave thought to those awful peple who did this to me and have done this to others.

One gal had her home burn down to the ground in the fires out west and she lost all her equity and her belongings. I don't make any effort to find and locate how the others of the past have done.

I was raised in a big city. There were no such things as being bullied. Any conflicts were immediately dealt w/fists, chains & sometimes razor blades. Afterwards, the boys shook hands, the girls put their earrings back on & we all went our merry way.

One of the bad 🫏es is a retired police officer. The others, unknown & never thought about unless I see them on the news.

Has happened to the majority of us as we age but not to our benefit to dwell on. I check to see if I can be beside anyone in need and I have nothing. Somedays are easier than others.

I believe in karma. There has been a few times when karma kicked in for me and a few times karma adjusted my faux pas-------some one person or many, just can't do awful things all the time and not---somehow---get punished for them. I see karma coming for many who have created the chaos and injustice going on in this world.

I do not know that I believe in karma, per se. Bad things happen to great people, and the other way around. Only you can control how you live your life and treat others. Not all "bullies" are bullies forever, and not all presumed "nice people" are always that nice. I do not think about the people of the past who treated me unkindly, they will not live rent free in my head.

I do believe Karma was involved in the lifelong friction between an aunt and her child; both suffered a slow, painful death.

I find this a somewhat sad posting.

KARMA is a concept of the Hindu and Buddhism religions, which discusses the principles of Cause and Effect. It discusses moral responsibility, and the opportunity to reshape one's life, even through rebirth. Intent is also part of the process, not just the action itself.

I would not want to wish ill upon someone I personally knew and grew up with. When people are young, they can be stupid and careless. Perhaps their parents did not teach them well.

I have never had a stalker (NOT stocker)--I suppose it occurs because of the relationships you have with people, or if you are famous and have your photos published all the time.

Bullies are everywhere and anyone can be a bully. Manners and etiquette, and kindness and TEACHING help to mitigate this.

There is a major difference between someone who is truly evil and someone who is just mean at the moment because they can get away with it, and did not know any better.

I would never take satisfaction in knowing someone from my past lost everything and suffered tremendously.

It is important to live your OWN life the best you can, and forgive others.

I also believe in karma. I have seen some of the girls that were considered "pretty" in school and father time has not been kind to them. I remember being bullied because my appearance did not hold up to their standards.

Female bullies I mostly experienced were mostly in the workplaces. They are all retired now also. Don't know and they surely wouldn't recognize me or speak to me. Since going silver grey hair, I changed my appearance.

I never was in the work world clique just like High School. I did have more popularity in college and generally prefered the company of men. I hung out with my boyfriend and his buddies. I have few close friends. I like women but often prefer to talk and listen to men.

This is not necessarily bullying but general holding folks back from progressing in the corporate world. I had a boss who refused to raise me two pay grades to the equivalent salary of DH. I had just received my Master's degree and worked off shift with great results raising the recognition for my team.

When I offered to forego an opportunity to compete on the male program if I got the raise, I was told that I could not handle the simple step up. I took the opportunity and succeeded with flying colors and ended up in middle mgmt. where there were very few women.

When I received this promotion and sat in my new office a few years later, this former boss had been demoted and every time I exited my office, there he was at his desk.

I made sure that I treated him with respect and a smile every time we met. He was a product of his generation: may be he progressed.

First-I feel that girl bullies today are far more horrid than when I was in school. But, re: the worst bully when I was in school...A few years ago, she posted on FB that she was going through some difficult changes in her life. She apologized in general to everyone that she had ever been mean to, and bullied in school. She said she was sincerely sorry for all of the hurt, pain, and tears that she had caused people. I had not heard from her in 30 years, nor have I heard from her since that FB post. I do not even know how her post got into my FB feed! Maybe she tried to send it to all classmates? And why the post? Bad medical diagnosis? Sincere change of heart? I have never quite known what to think of it!

@Puzzle Piece if I am thinking of my past I focus on the pleasant parts of it, not the contentious times or people. I really have no interest in karma, or not, or if it's just life.

Yesterday a couple stole a motorcycle, then were hit by a hit & run driver. The man on the stolen motorcycle died and his female passenger was seriously injured. Don't want to see anyone die, but it definitely made me think of instant karma. Hopefully, they find the driver of the hit & run vehicle.

Karma is interesting.

I don't think it happens where I want it to, or where I think it should.

So if something bad happens to us, is that Karma for something bad that we did?

Karma is not a reward or a punishment.

We see this topic from time to time and it's always a focus on someone who was mean or stole or whatever.

Look at most of the responses. Underneath is most is a feeling of righteousness. If you believe someone was punished, or believe someone should have been, then you yourself have planted the negative seeds for something to happen to you.

A house burning down did not happen because the person was a mean girl.
It was in the path of fires that left many others without homes.

A pretty girl who was not nice didn't suffer "time not being good to her"..
One of the worst misinterpretations of karma to date.

People do not suffer terrible deaths because they were nasty.
The kindest, most compassionate people suffer terrible deaths too

If you plant the seeds of positivity in your own minds, then the world will benefit.
If you look for something wrong to happen to someone who was mean or judge the person got what she or he deserves then your thoughts alone are seeds of negativity which will not benefit the world

Dwelling on past hurt only hurts you. Your task is not to look for the negative as payback because it isn't looking for karma. It's simply hoping, whether you admit it or not, that whoever wronged you is hurting.

We do not know everything about everyone.
The why, the how, the result is only your own to tend to; perhaps the perception of reality was not quite reality. Think about it.

First of all, I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. I have and I'm sure as so many others had to deal with people who are just miserable and want to take it out on the world. Although, despite of how difficult it was or could be, I Believe that it makes you stronger and more resilient because good always wins.

To be honest, I have found some people periodically in these forums to be incredibly negative, make nasty comments to other Community members. These forums are supposed to be informative and for the most part fun. I guess you can categorize them as bullies as well and just hope and pray that they realize what kind of people they turned out to be. Life is short and we should enjoy the ride.
