Shabbat Shalom, Happy Friday and Happy Mother's Day weekend.

We have graduations for universities in the area on Sunday. I don't know why they've always done it on Mother's Day. Our town has grown so much and hotels and restaurants strain to handle the crowds. Traffic is awful, too.

Still hoping for peace in our country and around the world. It's so difficult to see the children affected by it all.

I want to wish all mother's a wonderful weekend. Prayers for those of us who have lost our mother. May their memories bring wonderful thought.

For those celetrabing and observing Mother's Day, I admire you.

My late mother and I were never ever close. She was abusive. I don't celebrate or honor her. No guilt felt either. I am not a mother due to her 'ways'. I have been a mom to critters and that is fine with me.

Nothing planned for the weekend.

@Desertdi My mother told me the same. I'm glad I wasn't like her in so many ways. Through the years I've concluded that she was a severely depressed child and adult but she didn't know she was. Help was available but she was too proud and in denial.

I struggle daily with memories of her coloring my outlook on life and I fight them. The gift of life and living is and can be a very good thing.

I am so sorry that that was done to you...

In recent conversations with college classmates who were in my house at the time my parents happened to be there, some of their comments / observations stopped me cold.

i had considered myself to be introverted and aloof growing up; however, I can now see how I was reacting to the environment. Their view simply: they seemed cold and cruel / loved me but did not like me.

It took a long time to break through barriers I had constructed. I was lucky enough in my corporate career to have a mentor who could see through them and made sure I went through Leadership Training before I continued my career at AT & T.

There are several people whom I celebrate......

For those who have/had a difficult relationships with their mothers or kids, my prayers are with you. I'm so sorry.

Today is National Coconut Cream Pie Day. Enjoy a slice or three.

My maternal grandfather had a sweet tooth, and this was his FAVORITE dessert.

We have beautiful sunny but cool weather. Overnight temps in low 30's. Hoping for a nice weekend here.

I am finally off of my feeding tube! Able to get back to eating food. Small portions & soft, easy to swallow. I have healed from the surgery & am feeling stronger by the day!

I hope that all moms have a beautiful Mother's Day!
Prayers to end the war and that peace can be achieved.

Received some treats for Mother's Day from my neighbors and an acquaintance. All for being a Cat Mom. My kitties have all passed on but I will always remember them with love and fondness. They taught me much.
