My husband is not able to mow the yard this year, we have a self propelled mower but it is heavy and I can barely push it. Anyone one have a mower that you like and think is easy to push?

Right now we are paying to have the yard mowed, which is new to us...well last year we paid someone...1st time in 40+years..we would rather not have to pay someone and thinking about a differen mower, that maybe I can handle.

Any suggestions, welcomed.

I bought a self-propelled battery-operated mower. It replaced my dinosaur gasoline mower that I could hardly manage. My new battery mower is a dream come true. So easy to maneuver around the yard. I love it. EGO is the brand.

Try an electric. Maybe they now have rechargables or you'll have to use an extension cord. Without a big heavy gas engine, they are very lightweight.

I think if you want lightweight then I would consider Greenworks b/c they use lighter weight materials than does EGO. Greenworks uses more plastic on theirs than EGO so that's why they are lighter.

I recommend a light weight rechargeable battery operated lawn mower. The smaller the width the lighter. Something like a 16" or 18" Black & Decker. I know Home Depot has an even smaller Ryobi.

My advise is to check the different models on the floor to see check them out and compare weight.

There is a drawback with smaller mowers. You need to make a few more additional passes because of the smaller width and empty catch basket more frequently. To me that's well worth to not have to struggle with a heavier mower.

I used a SunJoe electric lawnmower.
'First one I ordered from the Q.

Second one I purchased from Lowe's or Home Depot, I asked them to assemble it and put it in the car. They kept the box. Go with the longest cord recommended.

I have a question about the ones that are rechargeable. Do they stay juiced up for the entire mowing job or does it lose power as the battery diminishes.

Also, I assume it is a lithium ion battery. How many hours does it take to charge it up and is it safe to leave it unattended while it's charging

If you charge it in your garage and it's hot in there, is that not risky or perhaps I am being overly worried about lithium ion batteries catching on fire.

My battery stays charged for the entire time and then there's still enough to do another cutting. Charge time takes mine only about 10 minutes and then I take the battery out of the charger and leave it in a cool place, not in my garage.
