Hi ladies! What do you think about the Medicare Wellness Exam, would love to

hear your opinions.

My doctor doesn't do it, the girl who takes my weight, blood pressure, etc.

does it.

It consisted of memorizing three words to repeat back to her later, and drawing

a clock with the hands on 11:50. 🤷‍♀️

You accurately described my wellness check. There's also a questionnaire we are asked to complete (it seems to primarily focus on nighttime bathroom habits). The nurse said a lot of people won't even fill it out.

I don't think much of it.

medicare pays hundreds for a dr. or assistant to do it.

After 3x I stopped doing the exam.

push it for the medicare payment the practice receives, I'm declining it this time around.

I never had to do a Wellness exam. It sounds like most people think it's a waste of tiime. Doesn't benefit anyone except the person who gets paid to do it. Medicare only does it for the money, otherwise they wouldn't bother.

It's a joke. This time instead of repeating 3 words or drawing a clock I had to walk 4 steps to the door and walk back and sit down.

I thought they were a waste of time and only make regular appointments with my doctor instead of the medicare wellness appointment.

Lizzys, I didn't make the appointment, I'm going in for Rx refills, and doctor scheduled

the Medicare Wellness Exam for me herself. What a nerve. They only want the money.

My own experience is that it's a complete waste of time. I filled out several pages of questions, the doc didn't even look at it. Most questions were about cognition and ability to do self care.

Doc stood on far side of room, didn't even listen to my heart.

From what I read, it's just to review meds or recommend procedures.

You can't bring up any concerns or they'll charge it differently and Medicare won't cover it, but you'll get charged for it.

those are test for cognative decline. Had to do them so many times with mom, I memorized them. lol. They are good for one to know. But no, I don't get one from my dr

I do the Medicare Wellness Exam to get my blood pressure RX refilled. They also do blood work at that time and it is covered. Otherwise it would cost me $120.00
