REHABILITATION</STRONG></FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><FONT size="4" color="#008080">Good morning friends.&nbsp; It's me, Patricia.&nbsp; It's been a while since I've updated you on Ed's rehab services.&nbsp; He is still in rehab and we just&nbsp; received a letter regarding a meeting with his care team to be held Wednesday, November 12.&nbsp; We assume we will receive information on his progress to date and hope they will give us a pending date for discharge!&nbsp; Hoping.....</FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><FONT size="4" color="#008080">Ed is making slow but steady progress.&nbsp; To date he has had rehab for eight days, some morning and afternoon sessions, some only one time per day.&nbsp; Upper body rehab is pretty good.&nbsp; However, lower body is difficult considering&nbsp;his neuropathy and a recent compression fracture in the lower spine with intense pain.&nbsp; Still, he is motivated and&nbsp; tries his best and never refuses what they ask of him.&nbsp; </FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><FONT size="4" color="#008080">Yesterday when I visited he was cheerful and upbeat after his treatment session.&nbsp; (Some days are not that good, and his pain is very obvious.)&nbsp; Mid-afternoon I went home for several hours and returned in early evening.&nbsp; Therapy dogs visited last evening and he really enjoyed them.&nbsp; It brought back memories of our own therapy dog visits over many years.&nbsp; &nbsp;</FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><FONT size="4" color="#008080">I visit several times every day .... morning and/or afternoon treatment sessions, lunch, supper, in his room and all around the complex.&nbsp; Thankfully, he has his Jazzy wheelchair, and can go anywhere he wishes during his free time.</FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><FONT size="4" color="#008080">Ed is not allowed to transfer independently from bed to wheelchair or to stand independently.&nbsp; He is a fall risk and requires at least one and sometimes two people to help him.&nbsp; He is allowed to reposition himself in bed by pulling himself up or in laying down, or moving side to side.</FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><FONT size="4" color="#008080">Right now I'm doing laundry and plan to visit before lunch and into the mid-afternoon today.&nbsp; Hoping he has another exceptionable day ... just like yesterday!&nbsp; <img id="smileyhappy" class="emoticon emoticon-smileyhappy" src="https://community.qvc.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.png" alt="Smiley Happy" title="Smiley Happy" /></FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><FONT size="4" color="#008080">Thank you all for the birthday greetings.&nbsp; I told him about your posts.&nbsp; Despite everything he had an enjoyable birthday celebration with cake, balloons, visits and many beautiful birthday cards.&nbsp; <img id="heart" class="emoticon emoticon-heart" src="https://community.qvc.com/i/smilies/16x16_heart.png" alt="Heart" title="Heart" />&nbsp;&nbsp;</FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P><FONT size="4" color="#008080">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<IMG src="http://www.lovethispic.com/uploaded_images/156991-Tgif-Happy-Friday.jpg" border="0" /></FONT></P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>&nbsp;</P> Fri, 07 Nov 2025 14:12:25 GMT AnikaBrodie 2025-11-07T14:12:25Z Hello Fall -
